Title: My reflection in the astral...
Post by: beavis on July 20, 2003, 21:15:56
"Was it my own mind projecting what I expected to see on looking in the window?"

Since there werent photons from your astral body bouncing off the mirror, thats probably what it was.

Many people have reported seeing their astral/ethereal body in a mirror or window during an OBE. It does not happen all the time but it is a common experience. It should be taken as a positive experience and something that helps to verify the OBE. This did happen to me, but only once. Oddly enough my astral/ethereal body was wearing dark colored clothes although I don't actually have any of those physical clothes[?]

Thank you Greytraveller and beavis,

It was an extremely odd occurence as it is the first time it has happened to me.  And I looked so darned good in that reflection also!  HAHA [:D]

LOL @ dark coloured clothes.  Perhaps someone in spirit was trying to tell you that you need a new wardrobe!

You may be right because a new wardrobe would be nice. However, if I had the abiliy to wear the clothes of choice then I would have chosen a Napoleonic era uniform or maybe a fine suit made in London or New York. [8D] Howeverit was an ethereal projection so I was not able to manipulate reality to my liking.

I'm reading Patrick O'Brian's novels as we speak, I'm on the 18th in the series. Have you heard of them? If you like the Napoleon era, you'd like them. Though if you liked Napoleon himself, you wouldn't, as the main characters are in the British Royal Navy.

Ah, 1800s, 1700s, and beyond! To visit...What a dream.

When I looked at myself in the mirror during my first obe I seen my body, which appeared to be covered by darkness but stood out from the night background, my face was also dark no identifiable features except for the eyes.  My eyes were a deep, beautiful, reflective,... just awesome looking eyes. That would be an etheric projection though.  The mirror was in my room.

Hi all,

I should say hello, as I am a newbie here!  HEHE.

I just wondered if anyone could give me some feedback or perhaps share any similar experiences as to the experience I had last night.  I projected, and was in mid-flight, when I caught a glimpse of my reflection in a window.  It was a very odd experience.  I could actually see myself in the window.  What's that all about?  Was it my own mind projecting what I expected to see on looking in the window?
