It is never too early to have an AP. It can happen reguardless if you know about it or try to do it. You have probably had Astral Experiences before, you just do not remember them.

What is real?
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

I've been reading a lot about AP's, but not too much about techniques, mostly just focusing on learning as much as possible about the astral plane etc. I wanted to know as much as possible before regularly attempting APs, which I planned to start on the first of September. I had an experience last night that may or may not have been something.

It's the summer and I go to bed late. For the past few days, my young cousins have been living here and they wake up at about 5 am, leaving me sleep deprived for several consecutive days. Last night was the first time that they were gone. I was extremely tired at 10 pm due to the lack of sleep and went to bed early that day. I fell asleep almost right away. I had all kinds of strange dreams, which is unsusual because I usually have dreamless sleep. I woke up in the very early morning while it was still very dark outside. I was fully reenergized and ready to get up, which never happens to me at such an early time. I didn't want to get up and wake my family, so instead I thought about various things for a while, before deciding to try to sleep a little bit more. It was still dark outside at this time, but I knew it was going to start getting light soon so I pulled down the blinds and closed the door. After falling alseep the dreams returned, but this time I noticed they were  lucid (I havent had lucid dreams for months). I remembered hearing somewhere that it was easy to switch from lucid dreams to AP, so I decided to take advantage of this situation and attempt to leave my body. The scene from my dreams dissapeared, and felt myself leaving my body while I experienced a jittery feeling, but it was mild and not really what I'd describe as violent vibrations. I actually blanked out (couldnt see a thing) for the split second before leaving the body. I found myself right next to my closed door seemingly floating a bit above the ground. Although i wasnt really aware of any body, i somehow touched the door. I decided that I wanted to open my eyes in my physical body and in doing so the experience was over. After opening my eyes, I wasn't sleeping anymore, and my body felt strange. In this stage, I tried two times to leave the body once more. Both times I managed to feel like before as I was starting to leave the body, but I failed both times to acutally leave it. After these two times I felt physically drained. that's the last thing I remember, i must have fallen asleep right after that. I woke up fully enegergized.

I'm not sure what to make of this experience. I believe it may be real because
-today I read a thread that sounded a bit like my experience and I've never seen this thread before
-i never sleep with my door closed, so my subconcious would most likely think that the door was open. it was definitely closed in this possible 'ap.' Also, the possible AP took place in my grandparents' house, where I've been living at for a few days, but I normally live in a different house.
-when i have a lucid dream i know that it isnt real, but this felt real
-the feelings i have in dreams are always feelings that i recognize, the feelings in my body that i had last night ive never felt before.

I believe that it isnt real because :
-im not sure but i believe that the door felt solid. I thought that your hand was supposed to go through it in AP
-it seems too early to have an AP. i've only been researching it actively for a month and haven't made any real attempts
-within the lucid dream it was extremely easy to AP, that doesn't seem right.

Anyone have any opinions on this?
thanks for reading
