I believe that is more of dream then a out of body.  By that I mean that the dream is a symbolizm of something.  When I read that I got the impression that you were trapped standing up which mean you are not passive you are active but you cant move.  The evil monsters or whatever I thot they are maybe fears or beliefs that you are fighting.  Fears and dogma related beliefs could subconsiously appear and evil things.
I have had several experiences with this type of thing.  I didnt understand that at the time I had them but now I do.  I too thought they were lower astral things or negs or what ever but now I realize they were my fears manifesting.  When you realized you were out or dreaming you woke up becouse some understanding came.  That is my theory tho.

i had my first conscious out of body experience last night... but.. unfortunately, it wasn't a very nice one.

i wasn't trying to project, i was trying to go into a lucid dream and i fell into some kind of trance and just remember hearing weird sounds, but they were relaxing.. i mustve fallen asleep or something afterwards. the next thing i know im conscious in some rotting building somewhere strapped to some kind of table standing up, and some heathens are playing around with me and push me over on the table. as soon as i realize whats going on i get that falling sensation that ive heard so much about and hear some windy kind of sounds before winding up back in my body. when i woke up i was scared crapless and confused, but i figured it out and went to sleep happy but a little shaken.

i guess since i wasnt planning on having an obe and didnt raise my energy, i projected and didnt have enough energy to ascend to higher planes where nicer things are present... so i was wondering around like an unconscious idiot among those evil thingies.

still... i think that's pretty cool. i know they can't really hurt you, just an annoyance, but i guess nows the time to start looking over that self-defense book robert bruce published.

just thought id share. [:D]
