No. Sleep Paralysis is just another methord that can be used for OBE's.
No more tips?
There is some evidence that obes are hallucinations. This is one of the main reasons by wich i ask this.
"there is some evidence that obes are hallucinations. this is one of the main reasons by wich i ask this." sorry, i cant resist, the perfect drug: obe!
sad? thats something i dont know... meditate, relax. nightmares? someone already said how to avoid them, read the forums, they will make you feel secure
Sleep paralysis is the only times when i can obe but it is a frightening state none the less
As far as OBEs being hallucinations, im still exploring that. I believe studies have been performed when individuals had their brains scanned during dreaming and hallucinating states. I believe that when hallucinating a different part of the brain "lights up" then that of dreaming (I could be wrong about this). OBEs and dreams are similar, but also keep in mind that Bruce mentioned that once could be simultaneously dreaming while obing so I guess no one can really prove anything.
If you prove something to you (or if you fail the test) could you tell me please? I am interested in knowing the answer.
I wish I could 'suffer' from sleep paralysis. To the best of my knowledge I have never experienced this occurence.
It seems like a kinda OOBE marketing promotion or something. :) You don't have to go through the hassle of relaxing your mind and body and (from what I've read anyway) it's a major projection shortcut.
So to answer your question, I would have definitely went for it.
Although if you woke up all confused, then I guess there's not much you could have done about it..

Yes, thats the point. I just waked with my mind confused, since i was sleeping in the moment before (and thus having my mind not very lucid) and i was having a bad dream in wich i started to obe and was escaping from something. The dream was scary and about an obe and suddenly i just woke up in my body! All the combined elements just scared me!
Thst is the reason of my question: If i have sleep paralysis after such dreams and with my mind confused, can it be dangerous to obe?I mean: can i have a bad experience (even if it is not dangerous)?
For the second time in few weeks i could have my first obe. I was dreaming that i was in a big need to search someone and, in order to accelerate my speed i just get out of my body (in the dream) and started to fly at full speed. Suddenly i awaked completly paralised in the bed. I started trying to move my muscles as usual (sleep paralysis it is not something rare to me) but then i realised that i could start an obe. This time i was much more tired and thus confused than in other times that i get paralised.
I strated to feel the vibrations and i think that i get partially out (it was confuse because of my tired mind). But then i get with fear and decided to return because for some reasons:
1- In the last night i get into the the bed with an attack depression and i still was feling the effects of such ( i was very sad).
2- I readed something about hallucinations as the scientific explanation for obes in the last night too and in the moment that i was paralised i thinked that obes were not real (stupid confused mind)
3- As i said i was confused adn didn have correct conscienc of what i was doing. I mean, it was almost like in a dream but i am sure that i was not dreaming, just having the normal sleep paralysis.
4- Besides that the refered dream that has make me went in the paralysis state it was a nightmare.
My question is: Do you think that in such conditions it is better to avoid obes? Is it better to wait for a best opportunity (and it can take maybe 2 months until i get another sleep paralysis that can make me have an obe) than risking my sanity? Or was i stupid in losting such an opportunity because nothong bad coul have happen (if it is that the case)?
I just want hear your opinion.
Thanks
