Hey everyone!
Going on month 2 of trying to phase/project etc.  One of the problems I'm having is I keep falling asleep.  I've been listening to the Monroe CD's and even if I am not tired, I usually end up falling asleep.  My brain must be sensitive to the hemi-sync   I did manage an exit or phase last week, but it was because I could only manage a light sleep.  How do you keep yourself from going too deep of a sleep?  Even when I have a good 6 hours and wake up to start trying, I usually end up falling back asleep.  I think maybe I should try in my chair or in a reclined position.  Any thoughts?

Hello.  I have a few thoughts.

First, I am wondering how you are preceding going to sleep.  I suggest that you tell yourself (i.e., request to your so called higher self) that you want to maintain focus into the sleep state.  Basically, I would not worry so much about what you do once you are in the sleep state.  I think your first goal is to have present awareness in that state.  I think if you define your goal clearly, that might help.  Of course, you might already be doing something like that.  But, to be honest, I think it is also good to remind yourself at night too that that is your goal.  That is, don't just think about it right when you want to do it.  Get yourself geared up for it during the day and before hand.

Second, for me, sometimes I go into the state from waking state, but sometimes I find myself in a dream, and then I remember to focus and I get there from what folks call a so called lucid dream.   To some extent, I think it is perhaps also helpful to start telling yourself that if you are in a dream, you will focus and get present sense awareness.  If you do that, you can, e.g., ask to see your hands or something.  If you end up waking up from a dream state, I think it is often easier to go back into a so called OBE.  For me, I sometimes get strings of 3-4 in a row.

Anyway, good luck.
