OBE Goals

Here are some personal goals I have with OBEs (some of them are obviously more long-term than others):

* Develop a working model to document areas of consciousness from the ground up using personal experience.

* Experience and understand the Monroe Focus levels from 3-21; likewise, for Frank's Focus levels 2-4.

* Access and accurately report information gathered from the universal data stream.

* Investigate the existence of energy (subtle) bodies and their correlations with the physical body.

* Successfully perform and report an objectivity validation experiment using the RTZ. Do the same using other areas of consciousness.

* Visit and report back on the geographical appearance of Saturn.

* Hold a meeting of two or more individuals in Frank's FoC-3 and report back.

* Develop non-invasive technology to aid or trigger stable states of expanded awareness.

* Develop personal methodology to reliably induce states of expanded awareness at will (or with necessary planning).

What goals do others have? I feel it's important to document and "ground" my experiences to best explore and communicate my experiences while in C1, and I think stating my goals is a good starting point.

A good list.  I think it could be useful also to try visiting others who are ill and attempt some healing on them whilst they sleep?  If this worked it would provide both a useful service and a validation!

I like these goals. I think we should start with rooting ourselves in the RTZ and building up trust and confidence in our non-physical senses. Meeting with others in states similar to false awakening, mapping and changing dreams and converting them into RTZ OBE should be a parallel work. After 9 years I'm still working on it.

It's more difficult to have a projection without having a little goal or something preplanned. I trained myself with simple things like taking a walk on the roof then going back to my bedroom, inspecting my hands, my body, etc. I have little protocols and to-do lists for different situations. I still am often struggling for my memories though, but may be that is the main point of the training.

I agree, this is essential. It's also important to question the reality of things in the RTZ - often they will either vanish, or turn into "scouts". At least, that's how it's gone for me.

My senses work well in the RTZ, it's movement that gives me trouble. It's like pushing through invisible clay. Usually, my RTZ experiences start with "old-hag" experiences as well - some kind of initial fear-based manifestation of terror. So it always helps me to have firm goals set in mind to get over that initial fear.

Other ideas I have are to try switching focus while conscious, eyes open. I have heard accounts of TMI participants being able to switch focuses while awake - I think being able to access these different levels of awareness would help vastly in real-life situations. And it would just be neat.

My ideas on the technology for inducing OBEs is still coming together. I think with the new Dolby headphone technology (virtual surround sound), VR goggles, and a computer it's possible to rig something up right now for relatively low cost. I think that when computer games go in the VR direction, OBEs are going to be more popular (and accessible) - but they'll probably be considered seizures or something like that, something to write a warning label on the game packaging about. It'll be interesting. Maybe in the future we'll be browsing the web in VR and at AP there will be a link to an applet that serves as a gateway. Imagine the social and political backlash ... maybe the technology will even be suppressed, or controlled.

Being unemployed in a profession not yet invented, psychoinformatics, I'm sure that merging mind and computer sciences will have an enormous impact on society. Internet was just a faint introduction of what comes when science recognizes the role of EM fields in consciousness. Then life on Earth would never be the same.

I agree with you that technical assistance, or better, direct induction of OBE will be soon implemented (probably by transcanial magnetic stimulation) along with a great variety of technical devices such as to transport our energy body precisely across the globe as a cheap way to travel and meet with others, devices to electromagnetically protect spaces from nosy eyes, to attain perfect health, etc.

The barrier between the waking state and the RTZ will simply break down but consciousness remains untouched. It's very unlikely that science would get access in the near future to the subtle mechanics of consciousness and ignorant or dumb people would travel freely in spiritual realms. If technically assisted spiritual travel would ever be possible probably it wouldn't reach out beyond the RTZ, just open worm holes and things like that to simulate the condition of layered dreaming. Well we will see soon. We don't have to sleep too much.
