Ive been practicing every night now to about two weeks i get into a deep meditation. I get my body feeling all tingly and kinda numb. The farthest that i got was when my hands floated but that only happend my 3rd time trying it. Ive been trying and trying but nothing happens i usually try and try then eventually fall asleep after an hour or 2. I also never remember dreams

Does anyone have any tips or tricks that worked for you when you first started..

Ive tried imagining a rope and it seems to help.. It helps when i look up but i cannot get vibrations or anything people talk about
Ive wanted to have an OBO since i was 14 now i am 20 and finally worked up enuff guts to try but without luck.

So please could you help me out with pointers that worked for you... someone said to wake up a few times between the night but i always just fall back asleep and never remember dreams

Hi jimmy979,

Welcome to the forum!

I actually started trying to project about 3 months ago so my memory is still fresh on what works for me :). The following technique seems to work best.

a) Don't try at the beginning of your night. Try between 3 and 4 AM. Set the intent that you will wake up at that time.
b) When you wake direct your focus to the fact that you are awake and then get comfortable.
c) Start noticing your breathing and start feeling yourself becoming heavy. On each breath out pause at the end of the exhale and watch your body fall asleep and you continue to feel yourself getting heavy. This may take several cycles of breathing in and out.
d) You will feel your body become paralyzed. This is because you body is sleeping while your mind is not.
e) Stay calm and with your mind reach out 2 to 3 feet in front of you and direct energy into your body and you will feel vibrations enter your body.
f) Stay calm and with your mind get up out of bed and walk away from your physical body.

I would advise for you to try this technique over and over for at least a month before trying anything else.

Best regards

David

Doing what was suggested above seems to help a lot of people, so give that a try. If you fail at night make some time during the day like around 4pm or so lay down for a nap and try then, usually if you fail and fall asleep by accident your conscious mind seems to snap back on its own once you hit vibrations. Sometimes I will end up unconscious only to have my mind snap back to full consciousness when the vibrations hit then its just a matter having the intent to leave and exiting. Once you succeed an important thing to do is make sure you make your trip short and sit up (physically) immediately upon reentry to write it down (its really easy to end up forgetting if you make the trip too long, and also you could end up slipping into a dream state if you stay out too long the first few times you get out). Good luck. Let us know if you succeed and what kind of experience you had.
