Hey folks,

Great resource you have here. Lots of feedback from what I gather and I hope even though I might sound skeptical that some of you may be able to help me.

I became interested in this topic a couple of years ago. I practiced with what looking back might have been more success than I thought. Then I became worried that it was going against my religion so I stopped for a while. It was always in the back of my mind though and I have rekindled my interest in it of late. Recently I woke up in the morning and could feel that if I just lay there and didn't move that my body would fall back to sleep. Sure enough it did and the next thing I knew there was a feeling of being sucked down followed by the roaring/rushing sound in my head.  Nothing happened after that and I basically just woke up and started googling the whole rushing/roaring thing. I was slight surprised to say the least that it seems like a classic precursor to projection and especially as I don't remember reading it in the past it seems as if it is effectively validation after the fact. I've experienced the same sensation now a number of times and yet even though I've honestly tried a number of the exit techniques I am yet to project. And here's the thing and I hope I don't offend folks here as that is simply not my intention. I can't but help be skeptical. ( Please keep with me here I'm looking for answers as I'm sure some of you were at some stage ) I have a scientific theory I'd like to run by anyone who's reading this. Could it be possible that the brain reverts control from the subconscious to the conscious in stages? From what documentation I've come across there seems to be the inner and the outer sections to the brain. Could it be possible that the roaring/rushing sound that occurs is in fact simply a case that the ears haven't been eh turned on yet for want of a better phrase? Which is also why everything is dark and not dark like starring at the back of your eyelids dark but dark as in void? Could it be that basically the information being received from the senses at this time is garbled because they're not on and the part of our brain that processes the info is just handed back control a little before the senses? At this point could the OBE experience so many have had be explained by our entering a lucid dream state where and because OBE's are first and foremost in our mind, our subconscious literally caters to our ego?

Again at this point I must stress. I know a number of folks here might be offended by my offering a scientific explanation for what's going on here especially considering they might have personal experiences that have convinced them that what they're experiencing is real. Having said that I've been lectured to by both religious zealots and dyed in the wool atheists in the past and more often than not they have only been attempting to foist their own opinions on me as opposed to providing some rational proof or course of action I can do myself to convince myself one way or the other. So please bare with me. I know this is a passionate subject with almost anyone that sits still for more than two mins to ask themselves some fundamental questions. Another reason that I can't help but think that this could purely be our imaginations giving us what we want to experience is the sheer numbers of projectors out there. Surely with the number of people who are convinced they can do this there has to be someone at this stage who can do it on command in a controlled environment? The applications of it are mind boggling. Off the bat I'm thinking finding missing persons at the very least? I mean the ramifications of this being kosher and provable could put an end to a lot of the heartache and devastation felt by anyone who's ever lost anybody?

So after all that some are probably thinking, this kid just LOOOVESS the sound of their own keyboard. Apologies for the length of the post but in order to get my point across and stress that I'm not in the business of offending took a few paragraphs. What I'm after are some surefire or as close to surefire methods for the exit process at the point where the rushing/roaring occurs. Folks I promise if any of them work I'll be sat there watching my fingers fall through the keyboard before I realise that I have to get back in my body before I can actually reply.

On a seperate note, has anyone listened to the lyrics of F.E.A.R. by Ian Brown? Do the third and fourth verses strike a chord with anyone?? Here's a link to the lyrics

Finding eternity arouses reactions
Freeing excellence affects reality
Fallen empires are ruling
Find earth and reap

Fantastic expectations
Amazing revelations
Final execution and resurrection
Free expression as revolution
Finding everything and realizing

Thanks to anyone who got down this far. Sorry again for the length.
