Put a wet sponge in youre mouth. That oughta solve the problem. [;)]

I often find the opposite to be a problem, having to swallow too often. I find the best solution is not to think about it.Difficult i know but it works.

mrincognito, you might be a bit dehydrated. try drinking more water so that your mouth can keep it self moist. also try breathing through  your nose rather than your mouth.

parmenion, try relaxing your body more. try getting it to go into a lesser version of suspended animation, so that your bodily functions (ie creating saliva) are slowed down.

No, I can totally relate to the dry mouth problem. And also the opposite one sometimes the swallowing one. My combined sollution to both problems was to breath through the nose. Simple but effective.

In addition to breathing through the nose, the tongue should be placed to the top of the mouth. The tip of the tongue should be on the upper palate next to the upper teeth. It can also be pulled back so that part of the bottom of the tongue is on the top of the mouth and the tip of the tongue is actually pointing toward the back of the head.

1) Don't let your mouth hang open (completely). You can let it rest open slightly (small bit). If you are already doing this, then this is the cause of your dry-mouth. The reason is because the air is getting into your mouth and drying up your saliva. Keeping the mouth closed, but slightly open reduces this.

2) Swallowing is okay, but only if the thought of it isn't lingering on your surface mind. It's a natural-body reflex, just as breathing. You should let it happen naturally, just as you let your body fall into a natural state of breathing in and out. Easier said than done, perhaps, but it won't take a lot of experimentation to get it in gear.

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone else has had the problem of the mouth drying out when trying to meditate?  I am able to bring on vibrations/heaviness, actively stimulate chakras, etc....but this ONE LITTLE THING is holding me back :) Thanks in advance for any suggestions.  Brandon D.
