Physical Movement or Astral Seperation?

This was odd and has me wondering:

I am fairly new to this and have only been practicing mediation and attempting to have a OOBE since January of this year.  So far, I haven't succeeded but I have progressed in steps.  Tonight, like 10 minutes ago, I was laying in bed.  I have problems focusing on one specific thing or blocking out thoughts because my mind wanders and travels too quickly.  I have been trying to focus on an image that I know in the past but never even got the "vibrations".

So tonight, I was lying in bed, knowing I wasn't going to get to sleep.  I generally always have dream images before I slip into unconsciousness.  This time, I figured I would try focusing on something I see everyday; the cd case on the passenger seat of my car.  Focusing on this image, I could feel my focus start to slip but I would focus back on the image.  I slipped into unconsciousness a couple of times but put myself back where I left off.  The last time I slipped out and back in, I remained focused on the image.  I could feel the tingly sensation start to rise towards my upper body then all of a sudden, it felt as if my stomach rolled.  You know, bottom of stomach in and it rolls to the top, like people can do with their tongue, I guess.....Anyway, after that happened, I had the vibrations.  I never had the vibrations before but I know that they were the vibrations.  Unfortunetly, I lost focus because of the new occurance and I was eager to make this thread with hopes for answers.

So, was I seperating or was it some kind of freakish, physical twitch that occurs when the body falls completely asleep?  Has anyone else experienced this before?

When you begin to enter a trance state, you can experience all kinds of strange sensations from all your senses. While the sensations vary from person to person, it's normal. It can actually be distracting, so I find it's best to try to ignore them and stay focused on your exercise. It's easy to get excited because something is happening, but you'll know when it's time to attempt projection.

Thanks for your reply, Stookie.

Yea, it is very distracting but I think I have progressed as far as ignoring sounds or sensations yet, they do affect me.

Every time I get used to a sensation, I never get it again, and begin expierencing new ones. It's quite anoying because I can't get used to them this way :-P

My latest one feels like someone is shaking my matras violently :|

I've had that same experience, It feels like your arm moves closer to your body or farther away, but it hasn't moved at all, Or sometimes I feel like my fingers are touching each other, but they are really spread out... (I feel like that all the time) stuff like that. Ignore the feelings and concentrate, your body is not really moving.
I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return KEEP ME HERE!

Thanks,
