In my experience I have found that when I am falling into a trance I go through two phases. Initially when I try to move my arms, I try to move my physical arms.  This is frustrating because they are paralysed.  But as I go deeper into the trance I start to move my astral arms.  Most of the time it feels just like moving my arms when I am awake.  Sometimes it feels like they are stuck to my body with rubber bands.  I can usually tell its my astral arms becasue I can see them and they look like they are made up of tons of tiny red, glowing particles.

Guys , if you dont mind telling , what do you experience up until the point where you get vibrations? Do you find it hard to stay awake ? Do you hear voices? Dizzyness? Eyes fluttering ? I dont get vibrations enough to know what I'm doing right to get them! Its frustrating for me lol. I can usually exit my body completely when I get them simply by fighting the resistance and putting a little mental effort into it by visualizing me moving easier while trying to fight the resistance that keeps my astral body so close to my physical one. Thats the only way I know how to explain my complete split =P

For me I just lay on my back and relax and then feel muself get heavier and heavier and then realize that I an totally awake but paralysed.  If I then induce a 'falling' feeling I start to feel lite vibrations at which point I can usually move my astral arms and see through my eyelids.  If I falls more the vibration become stronger and, I hear a very loud 'rushing' noise, sometimes accompanied by voices.  If I can ignore the vibrations I call fall even further and the virbration become extrmely powerful and sometimes I can pop out of my body, most of the time from the chest.

The only time I've managed to get part of me "out", was years ago when I was lying on my stomach with my arm under the pillow. The arm started to tingle, and after awhile I tried to move my fingers. They moved with very little effort, in fact it felt like they were weightless. So then I decided to see was I really moving them. So I glansed at them and moved them at the same time, and what I saw shocked me. My physical fingers weren't moving at all, but when I raised my middle finger, I saw my astral finger coming out of the physical one. So there I was looking at two middle fingers at the same time. They looked exactly the same. Well, I freaked out a little, and began to rub my arm, so that my astral fingers would reintegrate with my physical ones. And so they did.

So to answer your question, no it was not hard to move my astral fingers at all, it felt more like someone was pulling my fingers when I was moving them.

I've also had this :)  I was stuck to my physical body during an OBE attempt.  But I could move my astral hands freely.  It looked like I had 4 arms.  I spent about 3 minutes in amazement just watching and creating energy patterns (manipulating energy around my hands).

As for what I feel before an exit, it is usually very little lately.  I feel the body go numb and my heart beat becomes louder.  Then there is a sudden flash right before I can roll out.  I often hear voices and strange sounds but I ignore them, am I wrong in ignoring them I wonder?

InsertVery cool replies, thanks!

When you said you have looked at your astral body parts (fingers, arms, etc), was this through closed eyes? I think that is fascinating!

So perhaps my physical body still has a strong attachment to my astral. I need more practice.

Zarklon, you asked about sensations prior to vibrations. After about 10 minutes of relaxation, I feel totally numb and heavy. I can usually see patterns and other things floating past my closed eyes. I lose sense of my body and seem to go deep into my thoughts. Sometimes I feel I am floating. Depending on how late at night it is, I may get very sleepy and find it hard to concentrate, but I usually keep up with it for at least an hour or so. Sometimes it takes me 5 minutes to feel some vibes, and sometimes it takes 1/2 hour. I am working on making that timeframe more consistent. Hope this helps!

thanks , I think I know how I end up getting vibrations .. I can get to the point where my body pretty much goes numb and my eyes start to move around a bit behing my closed eyelids .. they seem to want to go up and down a lot as if I were falling facing a building and I'm trying to look at each window as I fall .. they move like that.  This is wierd and I'll make a new post about this to see what others things but after a while , I'll start to just sit there and say to myself "Ok , my body is completely relaxed .. now I'll just wait for vibrations " I'll either get them or I'll sit there forever with nothing. I think it helps for me to be pretty awake.

Thanks for your description of sensations prior to vibrations , it sounds so familiar to me in a way. I can get them every morning in class if I wanted lol but I just find it hard to do it at home!

Hello all,

I have been getting closer to having an actual OBE, and decided to start experimenting with moving my astral arms first. When my body gets completely numb and starts to vibrate I concentrate on moving them. It feels like I am getting somewhere, but then all I experience is heaviness and a lot of resistance to movement. Like I am trying to move and some force is keeping my arms down. Last night I did this for a while, and this morning woke up with cramps in my arms, feels like I was lifting weights!

Aside from wondering if anyone else has felt like this, I also would like to know how I'll know if I am moving my astral arms. I assume there is a sensation of lightness and my physical arms wouldn't be tired afterward. Is that correct? I don't remember moving my physical arms last night, but perhaps I inadvertantly tensed my muscles (although I was completely relaxed)?

Any info. is appreciated! Thanks!
