I never had any fear until I read about it

I have had many spontaneous OBEs and just started to begin to be able to control them when I bought a new book about OBEs and the author talked about the "scary and dangerous" stuff but never went into specifics.

Then it all stopped! Every time I try to have an OBE now all I can think of is "what may be there, etc."

It has been since then I am back to start ZERO.

Any suggestions on helping me curb my "fearful" thoughts.

I am going to pick up the MASTERING ASTRAL PROJECTION book this weekend.

Thanks for any help.

My advice is don't fight the fear just accept it and work around it.  I still have a tiny amount of fear every time I OBE.

One thing that worked for me was taking martial arts.  We would throw on gloves and a mouthpiece and beat up each other and after you do that for a little while not a whole lot seems to phase you.

I don't think you can get hurt. Maybe remembering that will reduce your fears and anxiety.

It's most beneficial to stay focused on what you would like to encounter and be doing with OBEs rather than what you wouldn't want to encounter.  I did have a lot of fear when I first started but it gradually started going away with each attempt and experience.  I've had over 150 projections now and no matter what I've always woken up safe just like I would with any dream, there is really nothing worth worrying about.

Well if anything could happen during an OBE (like actually be killed), nobody will be alive to come back and tell you.

Joking aside...

Maybe you should take a different approach and write down everything and anything you could be afraid of during an OBE. Decide if the fear is worth stopping any OBE activity and, if not, then when the fear comes up during an actual OBE remember that you have made a formal decision that continuing with the OBE is more important. I think I remember reading something like this in Robert Peterson's free OBE book. I have done something similar to the above, although I just didn't write down the fears. It has helped me so far and I am letting the process go longer than I would have before.

This sounds like a good idea. By thinking about what I don't want to happen I am putting those images in my head. MAKES SENSE!

Thanks for all the advice I shall try these things.

I had a similar experience.  I never had anything negative happen in the astral.  Then I took an on-line class and a chapter focused on negative entities.  Then, all of a sudden I was dealing with negative entities.  I couldn't get rid of them.  I was also suddenly in the "lower planes" of the astral experiencing and seeing horrible things.  I used the conjurations they gave us and that seemed to work.  The interesting thing is that since the class ended over 8 months ago, I have neither seen a negative entity nor visited the lower astral planes since. It's the power of suggestion.

It's a wise choice to go with Makaveli's suggestion.  Focus on what you want not what you don't want.  That's the Law of Attraction and Manifestation in the physical as well!
