Just wondering what it means when a person OBE's most nights, especially when they are stressed/down?

This is the case with my sister since she was 4 years old. She is soon to turn 40.. She won't elaborate on details, as she doesn't like when it happens, but it's mostly her floating in the corner of the ceiling, confused and not doing anything about it.. Or the other day she said she was in space, just floating.

How fustrating to have such a beautiful ability and not do anything with it!!! So is my sister very loosely connected to her physical body or something? I'd love to explain to her finally whats going on..

Stress causes OOBEs and Sleep Paralysis. That's a given. I can vouch for that.

It's most probably a stress response that starts the beginnings of a Near Death Experience. Maybe it's a 'get out of here while you can' response. Who knows.

I'm not sure that it can be explained as being 'loosely connected'. Maybe she is inadvertently thinking a lot before she falls asleep and is in the right frame of mind to have an OOBE.

Maybe she is napping during the evening. Ask her if she falls asleep watching TV or has a little sleep before getting up then going to bed. :)

Big yes. After my worst panic attacks and episodes to where I just need to lay down, I almost always go into sleep paralysis.

Oh! Silly me for my choice of words aha.

Yeah that sounds about right Bedeekin thanks for the reminder, it's just being going round in my head for days!
I wish I could teach her to make something of her OBE's.. But she won't have any of it!

Ahh I can't wait for the holidays to start, i'm getting fustrated with my own progress   :|

Bedeekin

How frustrating.. lol

So is she terrified and doesn't want to speak about it or she is just not at all interested?

Astralsuzy

I used to get sp years ago and I was not stressed.  One time I got sp late in the morning.  I was wide awake and I was not stressed about anything.

Bedeekin

Well some people do and don't... You are the proper exception to the rule aren't you Astralsuzy? lol

This girl does experience SP because she is stressed.... you didn't. Good for you!! :)

Astralsuzy

OK, I am learning all the time.

Bedeekin

I dont know whether stress caused them or they caused the stress. I was only 11.

Xanth

It's probably more correct to say that stress causes conscious awareness to become easily attained while you're focused away from the physical.

Bedeekin

Probably. Although the knock on effect of being scared to sleep began the need for the nap... which in turn caused the SP.

But then.. she didn't mention SP. Just the OOBE.

@Bedeekin, she experiences SP for sure, but the OOBE's are more frequent. She is most definitely scared as her experiences have scarred her I think.

@Astralsuzy I experience SP when I'm not stressed too, usually when I've had adequate sleep or sick with the flu and my basal temp is higher than usual..

Well my only chance at persuading her is to compile a list of cool things she can do when Out of body!
