My first real OBE

Well not exactly, because I've had many before, But last night's was intense, I guess it was because I had a some herbal tea.

First of all, hi all.

The following is my story: I've never really consciously "projected" out of the body. When I meditate and try the visualization method (kundalini rising to the forehead), I get into a weird hypnogogic state. But then i usually call it a night and sleep. This is when the weird thing happens, I'd be sleeping awake for a few hours, fully aware of my thoughts and the sleep process, and the dreams are more like I make it up as I go, It will actually play out. The kundalini stuff is powerful, I've never had OBEs from normal third eye meditation.

But afterawhile, I feel a pulling sensation, I'm just floating around the room mostly. But there were several things I couldn't figure out, like I was able to float around for 4-5 minutes, but couldn't go through the wall or window, I had to actually turn the door knob to get out of the room  :?.
Then I get tired and snap back to the the body. This happened a couple of times, but the last one was intense, as I was flying skywards, godspeed, and the color of the sky started changing, thats when I snapped back again.

That was the one I had last night. My previous experiences were quite text-book OBE, like I would be able to go through the small crack in the window sill. I can't tell if I was was shrunk so small that I was able to get through the window or I was actually going through objects. And of all the times I've had OBEs, I've noticed that my room looks different, the windows and furniture are a little off. And another thing is I've never seen my body on the bed after having projected.
But the most alarming thing is When I project, I usually want to go to my girlfriend's house . The scary part is sometimes, the people I meet have androgynous faces, and they seem to morph into the opposite sex when I'm interacting with them. I'm not secretly gay or anything, but why does this happen?

My take on it, is that the more intense the meditation and intent to have separation, the higher the projection, and the smaller the soul or consciousnss that becomes centered into a single point. The lower or more half-assed the projection, the heavier/bigger and more life-like you seem, and you take on actual physical form even as spirit.

So to sum up, can anyone validate these experiences?

-> Dont see my body on the bed after projecting
-> Not being able to go through walls sometimes.
-> People changing faces/sex. Are these people real or a figment of my imagination?
-> As soon as I get impure thoughts(you know) I snap back into the body.
-> Feeling stagnation, how to progress spiritually.

Thanks, any input would be appreciated, sorry for the long post.

Love and peace.

Haha, I laughed when you said that you had to turn the door knob to go through things. XD So do I. (I remember doing that once, not sure if it was an OBE, but as I turned the door knob it came off and I cursed. But I still managed to get the door open anyway)Every time I try to go through stuff, I end up just hitting them :/ I even ran at my window twice and well...didn't go through it XD

I didn't see my body on the bed either the last time I projected. I am actually kind of glad...o.o cuz you know how things in your room look different and switched around? o.o I dunno but I don't even know how "I" perceive myself haha. It is creepy though when things in your room are switched around and you are AWARE of it. (Had a poster that is really on my wall, end up on the ceiling... "I swear! That's not supposed to be there >.>" :)

LOL I dunno about the impure thought thing...maybe you are thinking too much "physical" stuff and your mind thinks back to your body. I dunno XD But, I usually can't stay out for more then 2-4 minutes. Don't really know why. I feel like I lose my energy or something at the end of it.

Out of curiosity, have you told your girlfriend about astral projection or OBE's? That would be kind of cool, if it's possible, if you guys could meet up up there or hang out :)

Hey 4everaspirit, thanks for your reply.

LOL i know, It has to be an OBE, or a really really lucid dream.
What you described is the exact experience I've had on a recurring basis.
I remember reading somewhere that the astral plane is just like the physical plane, except the dimensions, measurements, structures, architectures are a little more liberal in design. Meaning your room might be just your room in the physical plane, but in the astral it might be different hangout for a different crowd, Which is only natural. Because multidimensional physics has long suggested this in brane-theory, there are dimensions among us, continuously bubbling up to the surface of our reality, yet in perfect harmony.

And no, my girlfriend doesn't know anything about it, because my friends think im crazy as it is, for believing in "new agey BS" as they call it. I don't try to push it on others, I read that its bad karma to tell someone about it when they're not ready, everyone's got their own pace.

I remember seeing some kind of prayer altar in my room after projecting, and thought that was weird. I'll share what I know about the nature of the astral plane, Its true about the impure thought thing. In hinduism,
the astral body is called the "Kama Rupa" or the body of desires or lust. Its only natural, because any kind of sexual thought will be amplified in the astral plane, and when this happens, You snap back into the physical body. The astral plane is also a plane of semi-strict privacy policy. If you try to intrude the privacy of others, especially in their "private time", you just get snapped back into the body again. It wont even let you find out if a person is lying to you, i.e like a spouse who's cheating on you. It will be a blur, and then you'll find yourself back in the body. The bad thing about this is you can incur karma in this astral plane. Its some kind of a internal safety mechanism, to protect you from overreacting, because the astral plane is just a first step in spiritual unfoldment, and people who usually come here do not quite understand the cause and effect of karma.

The astral plane is also divided into hundreds of subplanes, The best way to go about is ascend to a higher plane each time you project. Thereafter theres the causal plane, see akashic records, etc. It may take up to 2-3 years to achieve this. This is why i'm never going to try projecting again. Because the real challenge is with opening the third eye, which is harder to do, because it deals with the higher 2 chakras, rather than the lower 3 chakras like astral projection.

Again, thanks for sharing your experiences,
Peace.

Hey again,

I respect that you have your own opinion of how the astral plane works, but I don't quite believe it  : ) I don't think anybody really knows how the astral plane/s work. I personally don't believe in karma but it was interesting to read about how you thought the astral world worked. :)

My friends kind of think I'm looney too XD I tell them all about my experiences and all about how to do it and they just stare at me like *.O  However,  one of my friends has done it a few times, so she gets me XD But my other friends just listen and try to keep a straight face :)

I personally don't believe that "privacy" thing about the astral. I mean, there might be, I don't claim to know XD. But I just think, that since when you astral project and you see weird things anyway (thought forms and things being out of place) you wouldn't really be able to tell if there is any "real" aspect of what you see. Granted, again, I don't know why we see weird things or things getting mixed around up there XD

Anyway, have fun with astral projecting :) Go off and explore and do back flips (lol that's what I do! x) )Or Have a dance party in your room XD
