Hey all. I've spent some time reading and I enjoy the members and atmosphere here. There are several great projectors here, and so many people are so knowledgeable and experienced and sharing of the same. I feel it fitting to introduce where I am in my development- some bread and butter of what I've learned thus far, and to voice my desire for assistance and support in my development.

What I've learned thus far is:

-OBEs can be caused from dreams
Several times I've become lucid in a dream, or woke up and went back to sleep, and what I've done usually is look at my dream hands for orientation, and then roll out

-Deep physical relaxation can be very beneficial
It can cause a very easy projection

-Sleep is perhaps essential
Drowsiness or sleepiness has been to some degree essential. I believe OBE happens in the deepest levels of sleep

-Rhythmic breathing helps
Rhythmic breathing practices before or as a start to OBE practice helps, and when done habitually can really help

-Having OBE when waking up from sleep or after having slept some is easier
Like I've read with others here, most of the OBEs I have managed to have occured after I'd been asleep for a while, or upon waking up and going back to sleep, or something like that, rather than going from waking to sleeping

I'm learning that I can really use some support in my development, and I am thankful for any help and assistance you can add. Thank you for all your sharing and openness. Hopefully I can learn to be as helpful and open and sharing as you all are

Peace

Question:

Would you please share how you progressed from only being able to get a few feet away to distance traveling. I believe that it is just a matter of practice and natural development. I would help to have the support of a few, this is how long it took for me to get distance, or this is how I helped the process

Thanks
Thanks...

Hi lkjewr

Firstly welcome to the Forums and for sharing your knowledge so far.

With my experiences, I normally have the traditional OBEs, where you find yourself in the same room as your physical body.  Everything is nearly the same, but there are anomalies such as an extra window or a piece of furniture isn't where it should be.  These are sometimes called RTZ experiences, RTZ standing for Real Time Zone (see the Glossary in the Astral FAQs for an explanation of what the RTZ actually is).

However, I have also been in "other-worldly" types of settings.  These are more dreamlike in the actual environment, but not in my mental state.  I've been as awake (or more so) than I am right now.  The scenery is not of this world, such as pink hills and green sky, that sort of thing, but it is as real as this world.

I have also found myself moving underneath a huge dark red planet in space.  I have no idea where that was or whether it was even in our solar system, but I certainly wasn't on planet earth

And finally, I have had some success with visiting a friend in Australia.  I was able to describe what he was doing (which was verified).  These experiences are probably the most difficult to achieve - and the most satisfying when you get positive feedback.

I've never really had to "travel" as such, meaning that I've never experienced the notion of motion.  I quite simply find myself "there".  Apart from a few times where I've been pulled backwards up into the sky at a remarkable speed - it made me feel quite sick and zapped me back to the physical quicker than you can say boo to a goose.   Even the zapping back isn't literal - I was zooming backwards through the sky and a nanosecond later I was opening my eyes in the lounge.

There was no obvious time progression between being able to go a few feet to being able to go thousands of miles.  Personally, I think it's a state of mind.  I kept a very open mind when I attempted to visit my Australian friend.  And I recorded what I had experienced.  I must admit, I was a bit gobsmacked when I got positive feedback - even though I knew it was possible, part of me didn't really believe that I could do it.

I'm looking forward to reading others' experiences on travel.  It's an interesting subject and thanks for bringing it up.
