Also keep in mind that everyone is different and that for each of us a different technique might work better. So the best is to try all of them and see for yourself.

You might be aware or not of some accidental OBE. For example you might have had dream-like memories when you fainted for example. Or you might have had very strange dreams where you were floating, flying and meeting some deceased people from your family. These and lucid dreams are very close to volontary OBE. So try to remember if you had any such things, that might help you to look for signs of OBE, such as (for example) the 'famous' vibrations, or the 'dark' place, etc...

alt255 lists good books, except for "Journeys Out of the Body". That was the first one, right? Monroe didnt know enough when he wrote it. I liked his second 2.

Read "carlos castaneda: the art of dreaming". Its better than all of those.

Castaneda is a good read, but only in conjunction with supplementary material. I don't think its a good standalone source.

I think "Journeys out of the body" is good, precisely for the reason you have mentioned. He didn't know precisely what's going on at the time, which makes the description of experience more accurate with respect to what an OBE newbie is likely to experience, which makes it easier for the subject to relate to the material. This is also a required read for those that are going to read his books #2 and #3. Otherwise it appears way too wild and hard to swallow.

Its the same way that you need to learn and understand classical mechanics, which is "wrong", before you try to learn and understand relativism, which is "less wrong" than classical mechanics.

i follow Beavis, Castaneda is very good, in other books there is a lot of differents phasing methods too (although it is not called phasing in those teachings)

I agree with you totally on that!  Helped me quite a bit.
I also agree with Shaman..everyone is different, ya just have to keep going with it and you will find your niche!

I've never found anything related to OBE that was hard to swallow. I want it to be the most wild possible. I would have preferred to read the unedited version of "ultimate journey", but nobody would print it (bastards).

For people new to OBE: I recommend you start with the most extreme books and only go to the "wild" books when you run out of extreme. Dont bullsheet yourself. See what you're getting into.
