I have practiced for many years to consciously make the exit, but only the last 3-4 months have been spent with serious devotion to the training involved. I have had a atotal of three (that I can remember) projections (or lucid dreams, I can't really distinguish them beacause they occurred during sleep). A few years ago, at a time when two of those projections occurred, I was having episodes of sleep paralysis several times per week..but only that one projection. Frightened by them, I got to the point where I would actually catch myself going into the initial stage of sleep paralysis and through sheer force of will I would fight myself out of it. It was just like a fight or flight response...I couldn't think "oh cool, here's a good opportunity to try to project." So eventually the episodes of paralysis ceased altogether as well as any more projections.
I guess my question is have I somehow progranmmed my mind in a way to be resistant to projecting now and what can I do to begin reversing it? I think had I not had the fear and let the sleep paralysis come on, I might have been able to succeed in projecting.
Sleep paralysis is a very uncomfortable if not terrifying thing. Overcoming the fear and discomfort regarding this is extremely difficult. However, at least for me, it is a 100% sure-fire way to go OBE. With an exception to the times I used "sheer force" to will myself out of paralysis, I projected. I think subconsciously you have definately caused these to cease.
I would work again on sleep paralysis to achieve projection. I overcome sleep paralysis fear by acknowledging before I go to sleep that if paralysis comes on, I will sit through it NO MATTER WHAT. Its when it catches me off guard that I tend to try and force it to stop.
GOOD LUCK!
perhaps you should train your chakras, to be able to direct your energy in a more positive way. Sounds like by "training" you have build-up a bit of tension. Just learn to relax, take up some sport or joga and exercise those chakras!!!
