Title: OBE to Death
Post by: Ahmad on September 26, 2004, 23:08:00
Well theres this german scientist and he said he could keep conscious throughout his sleep and one day he died.

I think if its a true OBE its possible to die.

In my personal out-of-computer world, I know only one other person who can AP. Since we're both alive, I'd say no.

I'd be interested if anyone has ever made up their minds to never return to their bodies, and succeeded, but I doubt I'll ever meet one.  [:D]

That kind of thinking is what makes most people [edit] their experiences when outside.

Cuz they think there is a synch with the time in physical.
That if you are out for lets say, an experience of one year, you would have your physical body sleep for one year.

People that are doing obe's should stop thinking like this.
Its just waste of time (ironi).

Some people find the experience so profound, they choose not to return.  Robert Monroe is a classic example of conciously choosing to not return.

So that's how old Monroe died?  He decided not to come back?  This is the first time I've heard this about Monroe.  Where did you run across that info Rastus?

I'm sure everyone is smart enough to figure out what "F" word you were using..[:D]
*not to mention I've spoke for months about your language, in other forums you would have been booted already*

I really wish everyone would just get over their personal thing against me and allow me to do my job without having to defend myself at every turn.[:(]

It's in Rosalind McKnights book.  It seems after Roberts Wife/Girlfriend (I dont' have the book in front of me) passed on, he AP'd only once.  Upon coming back he said he couldn't do that again and come back.  So for over a year he didn't conciously AP while he finished his last book.  Then he 'left' on St. Patricks day, in honor of Patrick, his first lost-soul rescue.

hrm, interesting.  It was his wife.  I remember him talking about how she died in his book 'Far Journeys'   Amazing.  Makes me want to get my skills in gear so that I can willfully pass over when the time comes.
Thanks for the info.

That's interesting about Rosalind's book.  I have a copy and dipped into it.  I must read it.  I read the Patrick account the other night and it was quite moving.  Also there's an author called Bruce Moen who was associated with the Monroe Institute.  He was/is very much into soul retrieval.  He penned a few books and they're very well-written.  It's interesting to read these different MI attendee books and see how they all inter-acted...  I'd recommend getting hold of some of them and reading them.

I haven't heard of any conscious OBE deaths other than those just mentioned, but a friend of mine seems to believe that several people she knew were 'taken out' by certain advanced spirits from the other side.  Anyone else hear of this kind of thing?

Actually I have had some astral attacks on myself right as I dozed off to sleep and have learned how to handle them now...Mostly I found that not being afraid or struggling is the main way to avoid these encounters or to break them off.  Another method is to just wake yourself up right away.

Good energy...

I hate to point out the obvious but if they died while OBEing how would they tell you?

You tell a friend that is obe'ing and gives him the message that you have passed consciously.

Now that is interesting - being able to pass over consciously while OOB. I must try it some day...

There are accounts of spiritual masters who just decided to leave their bodies for good while meditating.

I guess one could say it was a conscious death when a person known to have the ability to OBE is one day found dead and intact in his resting place.

Does anyone know stories of healthy people that practiced OBE/AP and died in their sleep?

I've read of a man who felt strong pain in the head when prolonging his dream, and one time he decided to ignore the pain and found himself unable to wake up. After a while he succeeded in waking up but felt sick for 3 days.
