Hi there,
I am a beginner and am not sure which is the best and most promising way to start for achieving OBEs.
Therefore I came across the binaural beats.

Now I am looking for a "how to"-guide, which explains how to use these beats to achieve OBEs. I am not sure how to combine the usage of beats with "conventional" techniques.

what is your recommendation on how to start in the most promising way?

I remember that Binaural beats made Robert Monroe have OBE.Said it in his first book that he listened to binaural beats for a week without nothing happening. After that he stopped(because he started feeling this pain in his chest) but he started having vibraitons, then after a period he projected.

In my opinion every sound that can relax you is perfect.First of all I don't know what monaural o isochronic beats are but I think that if you find a sound that relaxes you and puts your mind in a focus then you can use whatever sound you want.
I tested this thing by falling asleep at night with the music on my mp3.I put the volume a little down so I don't wake up completely and started listening to everything from orchestra, to rock, pop and jazz.As long as you don't move a muscle in 20-30 minutes you will feel completely relaxed and you will feel your body veary heavy, and you will start having these minidreams that last each time the pace of the songs change .Of course that binaural beats could work better because they maintain focus with their boring sound but regular music could work by making you more alert when for example you go from a nice slow song to a more agressive, rock genre that can prevent you from falling asleep.
Also binaural beats don't have to work imediattly. One night I listened to them for 1-2 hours then decided to go to sleep then the next moring managed to get vibrations 2 times and go in sleep paralysis(I actually heard myself breathing while my body was sleeping, very strange feling)

My opinion...
First learn to quiet your mind and forget about your physical body.  :)

Philmg,
as far as combining binaural beats with conventional AP induction methods goes, I would simply use the audio for 20 or 30 minutes before you make an attempt to project (ideally after sleeping for a few hours for maximum effect). If you try to project while using binaurals the sound can interfere with your concentration, but if you stop the audio then make your attempt you should find that the effect on your mind continues long after the audio has finished (sometimes even all night as Ryuk pointed out). As you may know, some binaurals are much better than others, so you may have to experiment with different ones before you find the ones which are most effective for you.

I have been using them for a while, but so far with no luck. However regardless if it ever stimulates anything to happen it's still very relaxing to fall asleep too.

But Ryuk you mentioned something that has happened to me as well and I completely forgot about it until I was reading your reply.

I remember on two occasions while having an OBE I heard myself breathing. It was an odd experience as I was not geographically next to my body (I was on top of the ceiling) but I heard myself breathing as if I had my ear next to my mouth - when this happened it felt as if I actually could feel I was in two places at the same time.

The only way I can describe the sound is similar to breathing when yours are blocked with water, heavily congested or maybe stuffing your fingers in your ears.

Hi philmg
I use the hemi-sync CDs from The Monroe Institute. (Not sure if its the same as binaural beat). You might want to try the hemisync CDs. When used from the appropriate headphones they induce a Very relaxed (sometimes near trance) state of consciousness. While these CDs do not immediately induce an OBE the music Does put you in the right state of mind to go out of body.
