First time I see 3D images while noticing the blackness

Everytime before falling asleep and while having my eyes closed I notice the blackness most of the time I fall asleep but there are times I start noticing cloud like images that are constant, this is when I know my body is falling asleep but my mind is awake and I have had OBE's from that state.

Well this time the images went beyond cloud like, this time I started seeing faces, I also saw what seemed like shadows suspended in midair, and I clearly remember seeing a shadow as if it was trying to swim. I saw all this like in a screen like setting. I also heard a lot of voices but could not understand any of them, so didn't pay much attention to it. I also felt like I could open my eyes at any time but did not want to since if it was a very unique experience for me.

Can anyone tell me what that was?
