Title: OOBE and Dying
Post by: David Warner on January 29, 2006, 01:15:44
AP Friends,

I started to work on a F.A.Q for my web site and came across a interested topic I wanted to share. In my experiences, I've never been presented with a life/death situration. So far to my knowledge there has not been any reports of someone dying because of an attempt to project.

Can anyone support this claim? I know if someone dies, it will be a challenge to find out if it was because of oobe, but maybe someone out there might have had a brush or thought they could have.

Please advise.

Thank You,

Tvos

If a medical examiner officially filed "Death by OBE" on the death certificate, what do you think his superior would say? :)

Accidental death due to an OBE? If it did happen there most certainly would be physical complications in that the physical body most probably  was not in very good shape to begin with. Very strong energy movement could trigger some physical defect already present I suppose, I have never heard of it officially.

I'm not sure if this is relevant, but the only similar type of scenario I have read about have been half myths of people who had reached such a high level of spiritual development that they could simply leave the physical behind at will and move on. An interesting point is, what happens to the physical body in this case? One would like it to end without nasty convulsions or pain or other such inelegant complications. :)

On rare occasions I've had the clear sensation that my physical body would die if I chose not to come back, I was already on an astral environment, seemingly for too long, then there's an urgency to return, there's this unbearable pain, and it's like I was so deep that it took some time to get my body working properly again, the breathing, the circulation and the organs, it's crazy, when this happens I notice a strange taste in my mouth.

I think that if someone was to die of this it would be for complications while returning, and not exiting. The superstitious would say that the soul can get lost, the 'silver cord' ruptures, but it's more like a decision, and you take responsibility for sacrificing your body, it's not painless either.

you cant die, because you never really, leave your body.

I think obe is more of a separation of your consciousness, then from your body.

for example, when I OBE I never see my body in the bed....

and also, no one can stay in the real time zone that long..

Izalco,

Yes - it is a separation of consciousness = leaving the body. I've many times seen my body from the astral even touched it. Staying in the RTZ back in the day (when I was on fire) I could stay up to 20mins and longer. Just have to kee focused, moving, and stay away from desire.

I do agree about if there were reports on oobe and people dying we would know. Even so if someone passed on due to the oobe the medical examiner / autopsy would show a physical death due to this complication.

If there so many professional of OBE and try every single days to always trying to project , we will know if a guy would have been injured because of Astral projection.

The following experience felt like i would imagine a NDE

The report can't not really describe how it felt though. After that I seriously think it could be possible to actually die while out of body. I mean I was separated from my body I can tell you that!  Wasn't able to rerproduce that experience though.

At least I feared to die!

It is highly debatable whether or not the OBE is an internal process or an external one. If everything is one, as everything seems to be then it is irrelevant anyway.

Anything is possible and I believe one can indeed leave the physical vehicle permanently (die in other words) during an OBE.

Towards the end of "Ultimate Journey" Robert Monroe says there was a moment when he came back from an excursion and his body and heart rate had slowed considerably and he felt he could have died had he stayed out much longer.

Maybe it has more to do with your body going into a form of shock or something from an intense experience that it can't comprehend?

Or maybe he had heart problems...

Ap Friends,

Projecting lenghthy times can take up a lot of energy. I know that from my experiences when I return from a short lived oobe I feel energized, awake and recharged. The longer out, then upon return I'm drained and the memory is hard to recall because of the download being fragmented.

I do think we separate bodies because of the feelings, emotions and energy between the two bodies. Many times when I do come back, I deffinitely feel a energy shift and transistion alignment. A good way to prevent from coming back is to spin around in circles sitting upward in the astral from aligning with conjunction of the physical.
