I experienced this too. Sometimes when the vibrations get really heavy, the heart chakra throbs like crazy and it feels like im having a heart attack too!

I usually feel like im not breathing when the deep numbness vibrations and heavy sensations come around.

The best way i've found to combat this is to concentrate on something OTHER than your breating. Perhaps visualize a small box and focus on that, or try the Life-Line technique. Anything to keep you from focusing on breathing.

Remember, your body will be fine, your subconscious will control your breathing while your consciousness shifts to the astral body. You do it every night and you're still alive arent you? So forget about breathing, just dont purposely hold your breath cause that could have consequences :P

Hope that helps!

Your Heart Chakra beats at a crazy speed which makes your body THINK that you need to breath faster to supply enough oxygen.

I try to keep my mind focused on a spot about an inch in front of my forehead.  This does a couple things.  It disassociates my normal vision from my conscious mind, and it keeps my mind clear even if my breathing becomes forced which it sometimes does.

Well I have tried to focus on something else, and sometimes even happens that I get the an increasing feeling of oxygen shortage and then I notice that I'm not breathing at all [:P]

It will probably dissipate along with training though...

Actually it would probably be easier to project if I would pass out from oxygen shortage... Then I could concentrate completely on projection [:D]

I have found that clearing the mind is the important thing, keeping the underlying intent of projection, without thinking about it, if that makes sense.

I do this by occupying the mind away from it's usual persuits.  Concentrating on putting my attention on that spot in front of my forehead seems to disengage the mind from thinking about what I am looking at, or what I am not looking at, or even the random patterns behind closed eyelids.  It is a disassociation of the mind from the eyes of the body.

At the same time, I use breath as a tool for sinking into deeper and deeper relaxation.  Breathe in slowly through the nose or nose and mouth, then exhale in one quick rush out of the mouth.  If you hold the throat open just right you can do this very quickly.  With practice on the exhale you will feel a strong falling sensation with every exhale.

Your consciousness, focused in front of your forehead becomes a dislocated intent hung on the thread of your breath - steady, steady, slowly inhale, then exhale and fall!  Steady on the inhalation, then fall on the exhale!

Over and over, in your totally relaxed state, you feel heavier and heavier, falling in an infinite shaft.  You think of nothing, only hold your unspoken intent.  You see nothing, and feel only your breath dropping you into the infinite abyss.

At least, that has worked for me.

Thank you, got to try it next time [:D]

Once I start getting heavy and feeling vibrations I usually get the feeling that I am not breathing or that I am suffocating.
Or then I start double-breathing (I breath normally but then I
consciously interrupt that breathing and start breathing with force).

Of course the result of this is that the vibrations vanish and projection fails...

Got any suggestions on how to tamper this problem?
