Pains in body when first OB-eing?

I'm no expert but here are my thoughts.

For a start, the choking feeling you experienced has been described by Robert Bruce as one of the symptoms of your throat chakra being activated, if memory serves.  It definitely means something along those lines anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it at all.

I also don't believe that physical mass has anything to do with it.  You only have to relax your body completely, and then it's out of the equation.  Anything after that concerns your subtle bodies, which have no mass.

The feeling of the cover rising on your bed is probably attributable to the fact that you were slowly reflecting your consciousness into the first subtle body within you, giving the illusion of shrinking.  It's not difficult to see how this could be perceived as the covers on your bed moving away from you (rising).

Similar feeling I has during attempt. ¿Doesn't attributable to energy body expansion, too?

Hello,

I think I almost did my first OBE there, I was using the power of my mind and not looking through my physical eyes and all of a sudden I felt the cover on my bed rising and I wasn't moving a single muscle in my body period. Please note I weigh 18 stone and when I was rising I felt like choking, not dangerous choking but I felt my speech box burning, if you know what I mean. Anyway while I was rising I saw plenty of different colours through my third eye to my left and right, they were like the colours of the rainbow except even more beatiuful! It felt hard rising but with the power of my mind it wasn't too hard. Though this is my very first time OB-eing and I only raised my upperbody, my legs were still still but I sort of felt them moving as well. Anyway is it harder the get out of your body the heavier you are (for the first time at least anyway)? I will be attempting to OBE again when I wake up first thing in the morning so hopefully I will be successful.
