Title: Phasing and losing train of thought
Post by: Detuned_Radio on January 07, 2015, 01:52:52
Hello,

before sleep sometimes I try to do the phasing technique. I find that while that I can be immersed in the situation I create, I tend to lose track of what I am doing. When i regain consciousness, I already snapped myself out of the "zone". Am I doing this at a wrong time aka before bed? or should I just focus more intent?

Thanks !

It could just be you're too tired, that's always a strong possibility and is a good reason why doing this stuff before bed doesn't work out so well for some people.
Likewise, you could just need to work on your focusing.  Focusing for extended periods of time on what you're doing IS NOT the easiest thing in the world to do.  Actually, most people (although *most* would never admit it) can't really hold a focus for more than a couple seconds before some kind of interruption occurs.

On my own forum, in the Destynee's Plan section... we have "Lesson 2: Learning to Focus".

http://www.unlimitedboundaries.ca/forums/lesson-2-learn-to-focus-t447.html

Give it a try several times.  :)

Seriously, trying to phase before going to sleep is, for most people, a waste of time.

You'd be better off Setting a strong intention to do your phasing technique as soon as you wake in the morning before you move around and 'wake' yourself up. Remembering to do that as soon as you wake up is the hardest part. The rest is easy,  I mean really easy.

Xanth is right about the focus I think. I would practice phasing during a time when your awake and sitting upright in a comfortable chair. start with your head unsupported. ( not reclined) practice the focus exercises there as well. You can do this several times a day.

Excellent replies. I appreciate it guys. Got it, so don't attempt this before bed, be aware, and learn to focus.

Also, great link Xanth. That's going to definitely help in the long run!

Feel free to join our Destynee's Plan we offer on my forum.
It's personal help to learn to project.

That's just the lesson two.  We have four (or five now?, I can't remember lol) lessons to work with at this point.  :)

Greetings,

If I may i would like to ask a question too with a problem I'm having these last weeks.

Well, I was instructed to follow a few technics and methods for AP and I think it is realy working out for me. But I have a problem. It is always like that: I go to sleep, and then something happening and I just realiza that my body is vibrating or I just "awake" somewhere else. I immediatly look around and it all comes to me: Im sleeping. Im not here - and in this moment I gain awareness of the state Im in. But... just a few seconds after, when I try to look around or do something I get caugh by a numbness feeling... just like If I'm falling from a tall building and awake.

If anyone could give me a little tip or indicate some literature I would be pleased.

PS: Sorry my horrible english.

When learning you are 80% more likely to be successful first thing in the morning when you wake naturally.
At night before bed its only 20% and that's if you have some basic experience.

Falling asleep is a clue. Get an extra hour sleep each night for a week or so before trying again. This makes a big difference to the falling asleep problem.
