Title: Phasing vs. Shifting One's Assemblage Point
Post by: sterlingindigo on December 21, 2005, 12:32:20
Any Castaneda fans out there?

I've not yet been consciously successful at phasing as I understand it but am wondering if it may be similar to what Castaneda (Don Juan) referred to as shifting one's assemblage point?

Castaneda Rocks!

I've always assumed that moving the assemblage point was moving awareness or partial-awareness into another focus level. I think that phasing is just one aspect of what moving the assemblage point can do. But in many of Don Juan's teachings it's done without the body going to sleep, like with aura-sight.

What I've always like about the Castaneda books is that it's not just one aspect of life that's focused on, but changing everything about one's life, both outer and inner.

I would definitely agree with your point.

A shifting of the Assemblage Point allows those 'other worlds' to come into view, much like Phasing.  However, one difference that I have noticed is that the Assemblage Point can shift not only during meditation and sleep, but during waking hours....unlike my experiences with Phasing.

I learned to phase using the Monroe Gateway tapes. I was wide awake.

Sorry...I meant waking hours to mean walking around or engaged in another activity besides meditation/sleep.
