If this is the way you feel about the discussions on this site then naturally you're not going to see any good in it.

The workshop manual for my car is something that I find to be very useful information, but to anyone else that doesn't own a car like mine or has no technical or mechanical ability, it is meaningless.

OBEs are important to many people here, as is spiritual growth. To a mind that is open to change or at least accepting that there are other possible viewpoints to any given topic, all opinions are of value.

We use the filters in our minds to sort what is of value to us and what isn't. If you have determined that none of this is of value to you, then why bother reading any of it? Nobody is making you take in everything on this forum are they?

If nobody is forcing you to accept the views of other people here, then all of your criticisms are meaningless!

I'm sorry you feel that way Alpha, but people here just don't understand sometimes as do people all over the world. But you have to get past what your feeling now and make your own beliefs and standards. Put your opinion in and you might find something new to ponder over. You might want to do some studying if your not convinced and find out what you believe in and so forthe.

Oh, most certainly, I agree with a few things he has said in a few of his posts. But there is no need in attempting to make others feel dejected and try to discount their beliefs as 'worthless'.

I'll share some knowledge with you guys... I was there before too.

Here is the purpose of life:

To reproduce... That is the basic purpose of all life on this planet. Since nothing is static in the sense that it will live forever it must reproduce. That is the main purpose of life on the most basic level.

As far as a secret to life:

The secret is nothing. Thats why you here zen masters say "I am no one and know nothing". They have found their teacher INSIDE of themselves. Once you look past the illusion of time.. you see the ulitmate purpose. Everything is decided... I won't argue the point.

You HAVE to find these answers to life in yourself, BY YOURSELF.

There are no masters that can teach you more than you can learn on your own. Take Robert Bruce the writer of Astral Dynamics.. He used his own mind to recreate what the chinese discoved thousands of years ago, the basic energy system of man.

Now there may be a "higher" purpose, to serve God, etc. I personally just live life, and try to learn. Do what you will, because you already have.

Many people who visit this forum share your frustration. They come here because they're seeking answers; they don't have any other resources to find these things out.

I don't think you're asking the right questions. Until you know what's right for you, your life will be meaningless. But mine isn't. I take my posts very seriously, and you should too.

What did you expect to find here? Do you want someone to tell you how to fix your problems with your life? First, you need a nap and a sandwich. Then get some exercise and listen to Pantera. Finally, confront all of the people who bring you down and don't back down until you are proved right or wrong. Stop waiting for some spiritual message to give you passion in your life, it's not coming.

I agree with you, other people are a joke. But thank your lucky stars that you're you, not them

]Just the kind of posts I was hoping to hear. Positive replies telling me not to be negative. For the record, I have a happy life, and I am a grateful and happy person. It's good to see that people take some offense (though none was intended) to the idea that none of this is important. I'm glad to see replies reading "don't be negative" and "find the answers" instead of people telling me that my post had good merit and that perhaps we are all meaningless. I don't really believe that, but I wanted to test the waters so to speak. That was what I was hoping for. As expected, some of what I said was taken out of context, but that just made for interesting replies. It wasn't intended to be a negative topic. More like something to think about. People get passionate about something if they feel misunderstood, or maybe even a little angry. I must admit that I don't see much relevence in talking about the Matrix if you want spiritual growth. I also feel that though my post may have struck a cord with some of you, I've read many about homosexuality and religion where people directly attack eachothers lives. I thought it might be interesting to address that on some level. Bring it to light if you will. Some responded nicely, others were cynical, but they were all appreciated. I did learn something though. Negative replies to negative posts bring nothing but negativity. Insulting someone because you don't agree with their insults doesn't do much good. I much more enjoyed the positive replies. Thanks to everyone!

TheAlphaOmega, I understand where your coming from and for the most part, I have to agree with you. A fair amount of people are only here for personal benefit, like "give me an obe", or something, but atleast not everyone is like that.

So after reading a lot of posts and having many "unique" discussions with people I don't know from all over the world... I've decided that nobody really benefits eachother. I look at all these posts about "is the matrix real?", "how can the bible be true?" or, "what's the meaning of life, from Socrates' percpecptive?" and realize that no one is really helping anyone. All anyone wants is to make everyone else see their point of view, instead of expanding everyones point of view into something meaningful. Christians want to make others Christian... while the steadfast Athiests are always there to "prove" them wrong. Nobody listens to eachother anymore. Nobody wants to admit they are wrong, or stupid, or ignorant. Nobody feels the need to accept what they don't understand or agree with. I'm sure many of you see different view points that make us all individuals in a wonderful website that allows us to express why we believe we are all individually correct. I see pointless questions and beliefs that keep humany as a whole judgemental and seperated from one another. Everyone wants world peace... but they never stop fighting about how it's going to happen. Why is all this stuff important? Why is having an OBE so important? Why is spiritual growth necissary? Everyone has their theory, and to each individual they themselves are correct. So how does that help anyone? Do you think humanity is making progress? Do you believe we are special? Nothing lasts forever... not even our "superior" species. Human beings are a joke!!!!!
