Hi Ady,

      There could be a few reasons why you were unable to project. #1-The body not being completely relaxed. #2-Fear,which can create a certain amount of tension. #3-Not letting the vibes spread throughout your whole body. And sometimes trying too hard can actually be a detriment. Now as far as the sick,dizzy feeling that you felt. Possibly you awoke too fast or abrupt and your astral body was out of sync with the physical(it happens). One way to get rid of this feeling is to go back to sleep again for a brief period. This normally realigns everthing on awakening. Don't worry Ady. This is a very common occurance and never does any lasting harm to body. Good luck.

Thank you for that explanation, elbuscador!

What about body paralysis? Does it have to occur before/during projection? Inbetween vibrations I know I can move, i am not paralized.
Well, then if u have to be paralized after all, how do u return then?

thanx :-)

Hi Ady,

Generally your body will experience the vibrations or paralysis prior to a projection. However if you are fearful and get tensed up, this could prevent you from making an exit out of your body. Relaxation is the key. When you get the vibes or paralysis try to remain calm and allow the vibrations to spread over your whole body. Then try sitting up or floating out. If you still have a problem, try to increase the intensity of your vibes by wishing it so. But you must remain calm. With practice it will happen. Once you are out your body you are free to explore. Getting back in is not a problem. Just think about being back in your body. The paralysis will not prevent you from returning to your body. Also try not to move too soon. You must wait until the vibes are fairly strong before attempting an exit. Good Luck Ady.

Thank you, Kevin :-)
That exlpains a lot!
What does the paralysis actually feel like?

Hi Ady,

I have never had the paralysis (ie, when you are not able to move any part of your body). I seem to always get the vibes when I happen to get lucky enough to wake up during the night. The vibes for ME feel sort of like an electric, vibrating current that pulses through my body. Being heard as well as felt. Sounding sort of like a humming or buzzing noise. The experience is sort of hard to describe. You have nothing to fear though. Fear is (in my opinion) one of the greatest detriments. I know for many this is easier said than done, but when you are able to control your fear(s), doors start to open. Sorry I was unable to be clearer on the description of the vibes. Warm regards.

Hi :-)

The vibes for me are something similar: high frequency tension, acceleration and loud (internal) noise - hard to describe, but very intense and unusual. But as soon as I get them, they don't last long, coz I feel that my body is fighting aginst something and physical tension builds up.
You are right: fear is a detriment, as well as excitement. When I get some new feeling which feels "very real", then I ask myself: "What was that? Huh?... is it good 4me?" which disturbs me.
Sometimes though, when I am completely relaxed and let the vibes spread out a bit, then I my hands feel bigger and lighter.
How do u describe the process of escaping your body? What do u feel in that very moment?

Hey ady, perhaps you could explain what your technique was for getting to this stage? I have not been able to reach the vibration stage yet. Thanks!

ady

Hi justinf77!

The technique I used is the one explained in "Treatease on AP" from Robert Bruce: Relax (this is the most important as I see now), climb the rope. After u are in trance and concentrate on yourself leaving your body, the vibrations start. If it doesn't work, then u can try N.E.W. for a while to loosen-up the energy blockages . Good luck :-)

Hello.  I'm new to posting here but was wondering if anyone could give me a hand with this whole OBE thing via posting a message here.  Let me describe my dilema.

I've been trying for about two weeks now and finally, the other night, something odd happened.

I was trying to stay awake and suddenly I felt myself sitting up but in a weird way.  I was lying on my back and there was like this vibration thing coursing through my body accompained by this loud type noise that I can't remember cause it was the first time it had happened.  Um.  I began to sit up and I had been trying for so long I was soooo happy and all giddy that I was actually doing it then suddenly I stopped sitting up and something began to pull me back.  I tried to go against it but I suddenly became fully 'aware' again and  I was sitting up.

I was thoughraly annoyed because I had been lying there for 3/4 of an hour.

Please tell me what I did wrong or what could possibly have been stopping me from going all the way because I was really looking forward to actually getting it right!

Also, my friend is here with me and she's just starting out and wants some advice on beginning because I don't know much save all the stuff I've read and even then it doesn't work the same.

Please help me!!!!!!

Hi, Andali! Welcome to the forum, nice to have you here :-)

What you've most probably experienced was a consious OOBE. In that case, you did everything right. You might have run out of energy or got overexcited, which stopped your projection. You might also have some blockages in you legs. Keep on trying and after some time, you will get more experience for a better OOB control! A great help is NEW (see downloads on this site) - also a great thing to start with.

Good luck for you and your friend!

Thanks for replying.  I thought it was something more serious but thanks anyway.

Um, how can you stop yourself from falling asleep cause I was numb last night but I think I fell asleep.

Also, I was talking to someone about it and they think it's not a good idea cause something else could take over you or whatever.  Is it like 100% safe because what they said kind of scared me.  Is it at all possible some other spirit thing or something could take over your body while you're away?

Hope you can answer my question.  Thanks!

Try projecting during a day! You can see better in RTZ and there's a less chance to forget your experience. Also find a position, where you can be totally relaxed and not fall asleep at the same time (for me it's simply lying on my back).
I, personally, have never heard it happen that during an OBE, someone's body got possesed. In my opinion, a healthy human body will never let this happen! Actually at this very moment, many people have some astral beings stuck on them, sucking the energy (first thing to get rid off during a good projection). I used to be scared of AP before: I thought that it's very easy to lose the way back to your body and one can die (this is more or less a "near death experience"), but it turned out to be not the case :-) Human energy system is very strong (especially when it's well developed) and has many ways to protect itself! Good luck!
By the way, an unexperienced Astral Projector (like me :-) ), has a sort of reflex that gets you freaked out when you approach AP - you hear noises, etc. Don't get scared - it's just temporary, look at it as a challenge :-)

Good luck!!

Thanks for the advice.  I'm still having problems though.  The other night I tried again and this time I put on some 'white noise' just the radio between a channel.  I relaxed and let my body go numb.  I thought an OBE was coming on but something odd happened.  My heart starting to beat like I was running a marathon or something.  It was going fast and thumping so hard I could hear it in my ears.  There was all this adrenaline running through me and I thought, yes, it's gonna happen so I stayed calm (as calm as I could be when my heart was doing the total opposite of calm).  The problem is, I lay there for like, a whole fifteen minuets until I started to feel sick from so much adrenaline.  Nothing happened.

I had to stop because I was feeling ill.

I thought I felt everything leading up to an OBE but nothing occured.  What's going on?

Please help me!

Also, one of my friends tried and she felt some sort of swinging sensation and 'saw' a bright light that seemed to drift into her face, then back into darkness in time with her swinging though she felt no vibrations but her heart was beating fast.  What was that?

Please answer my questions.

TOTALANATION

ady

Hi everyone! Yesterday evening I tried my first OBE. I have been practicing relaxation techniques for a very long time, so I had no problem with the first stage. At some point, I started to have following sensations:
- strong acceleration in chest area;
- EXTREME vibrations in my whole body;
- strong (real) heartbeat;
- strong vibration of eyelids;
- tension in muscles;
Afterwards, I had a feeling that my hands got bigger and fatter. Warmth in the whole body.
I had those vibrations 3 times, but after each one, could NOT "move out of the body", even after trying to "climb the rope". I also didn't see anything. Sounds were more or less clear. The third vibration was so intense, that my eyes opened, and continued with opened eyes! After a while, i started to move (physically) and felt dizzy and a little bit sick. My whole body felt as if it was not mine and felt weird. After drinking a glass of water, everything was back to normal.
Please help me understand what happened! I would really appreciate it :-) Thank you!
