Somehow I get the feeling this thread isn't in the right section. If it isn't and it needs to be moved, sorry. I'm really not trying to look like the stereotypical newbie.

I've read on various sites that time travel is possible when you astral project. Like, you can get a first person view of yourself in the past. What I'm trying to figure out is, would I be able to do anything in my old body? Would I be able to alter anything? Would I be able to feel anything? Perhaps talk to other people? Or would it just be as if I was watching a movie?

As a guess I would say it would only be an instance of the "past" and while you might be able to interact with the environment and people, any changes in your physical reality would not exist.

I had an experience a while back which started during a session in a chat room. We were discussing OOBEs and one person had become madly interested in the idea. He asked me to use my "powers" to find out where he lived. At the time I didn't want to say "hang on, it's not always that easy" in case it sounded as though I didn't believe in what I was trying to convey. In the end I said I would see what would happen but no promises.

I went to bed late and tired that night with my objective in mind. As I closed my eyes I was immediately thrown into a first person perspective of being high above a city somewhere. I didn't have any control over what I was seeing or how I was navigating the scene but I seemed to be focussed on a very stony looking block of flats with a park in the background. I then found myself focussing on a particular floor and a specific window whilst moving towards it. Inside I could see a small room; an old radiator with a bookshelf above it by the window and a small bed in the corner. I didn't think that, at the time, it might be related to what I agreed to try and find out about earlier, I wasn't that focussed on the endeavour, just mindful of it.

The next day I described what I saw to him. He confirmed the park area, the block of flats, the small room and bookshelf but said that the radiator was gone now and that it had been removed some time ago. He seemed rather unimpressed by everything though and insisted that I wasn't paying enough attention to what I saw. It seems he wanted more details (imagine my disapointment as I was extremely proud at the time). :-P

I have read other posts regarding perceptions of the past, one interesting experience someone had was seeing his room not as it is but may have been. There were lots of dated posters everywhere I think is what he said.

I've come to believe that time isn't what we perceive of it, that it doesn't travel in only one direction and only one step at a time. The past is just as much infinite as the future is and may even be happening all at once. We just happen to shift our perception(s) to various instances of potentials.

It's hard to bring objectivity into this unless you are actually speaking with someone who lived long ago, that way you can get specific details without your own subjective interpretation of the energy getting in the way of it.

Yes ..
In the Astral dimension, time doesnt exist ...
In the absolute reality, everything is happening all at one ... because time doesnt exist ...
But our brain doesnt have the ability to percieve all the events at the same time ,, so it divides it at time series ... past, present, and future ...
So that's why you dont percieve time in the astral dimension just like the physical one ... because the astral plane is higher than the physical one ...
