With astral projection, lucid dreams, seeing auras, and other abilities, my best experiences so far were before I was 10 years old. That was when I decided to ask the adults in my life about it (parents, teachers). The abilities went away almost instantly and became nothing but distant memories. Now I'm 27 and have been trying to learn astral projection since age 13.

2) took less than a week (!) but I think this was due to the trauma of losing a child. Also - please define conscious projection. Awareness of exit? ?? I am not sure that there are only two types.
3) Some ideas resonate well and immediately, others I think are complete tripe.

My guess is that old age also has it easier ---I think one starts to become less entrenched in physical matters.

Kubler Ross spoke of the very young and the very old having wide open 'spiritual quadrants.'  People in the middle (like me I guess) are supposed to be more closed.

A. Intentional=You mean to have OB (may turn out to be one of the above)
B. Spontaneous=It just happens.

I'd categorize mi expreriences mostly as B1.  (Ok, I tend to think things to death http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0> )

I'll agree with Ross. The young are not burdened down with the imposed normative experience of life and the older see through the scam.

2. Been trying for a few months, haven't had a OBE that I know of yet but had my first LD the other night!

b) been trying for 4 months.  every single night.  i've had a dream every  attempt, 5 of which have been lucid dreams.

c) i am quite receptive of ideas, considering i've had so many come to me in these past months, that really anything appears game.

b) Still trying, but VERY close I think.
c) I experienced almost everything involved with OBE type things before I knew what they were.  My entire life, I've been doing energy work, had vibrations, etc.  (I can localize any type of energy work anywhere in my body, in any mind set, any time of day.  From a pin prick to full body vibrations) I just thought it was a normal part of life, that everybody did the same thing.  It wasn't until I started researching into it that I realized what it was.  I just wish my ease with everything else would translate into ease of conscious projection.

My thinking on this is fairly straight-forward and obvious and I'm sure many of you have had similar thoughts...

Basically I think age has a factor on how successful you are in projection and how easy it is to project for the first time. Sorta like the longer your mind is exposed to the physical world the more ingrained physical alertness and associated ideas become, therefore making them harder to break - e.g project. However if at an early age you try to push the boundaries you find it easier and as you grow your mind comes to accept things other than the physical.

Anyhow,
a) How old are you,
b) How long did it take you for your first projection (or are you still trying?)
c) How easily do other related ideas come to you? e.g energy work, LDs etc.

Myself,
a) 15
b) Still trying, to be honest haven't tried more than 15 times in the 4months i've been trying. I like learning lots before jumping straight in - I've already learnt some harsh lessons.
c) Very easily. The first time I hardly even tried to project, rather just to relax entirely, I think I very nearly projected. LDs and other strange occurences (mind awake, body asleep for one) occur regularly (weekly) with little effort put into them.
