I am just now beginning to learn about this entire field and have yet to actually try projecting.
My question is:
once fully trained, can you achieve a projection every time you want it?
I mean literally lie in your bed and project without real efforts? or will it forever be a hard thing to accomplish?
thanks in advance

I think that the more you do it the easier it gets. I don't know how easy it can get to be though. I think most frequent projectors project at most a few times each month.
THE ANSWER PARADOX
The answer to all paradoxes shows this: "Reality contains logic therefore logic cannot contain reality."
The paradox here is "how can one know this is true?".

If the answer to one paradox is another then the question is the answer.

One of the frequent posters here has some stats on how much he has projected. On months where he didn't have too much going on (like re-modeling his house or whatever) he was projecting more than 15 times every month. I wonder what it's like for someone like Robert Bruce.

I have heard of people who can dip into a lucid dream state while walking down the road. They are just incredibly in touch with their subconscious mind I guess. In the meantime, I'd settle for just getting into a sold trance at will.

how do u invoke a trance by will?

Here's a good technique called "noticing" that Frank uses in his phasing instructions:

"I think often that people are too hasty to discount these initial stages, and they just go off on some method.

When I close my eyes all I see is blackness. But I think the essential difference between me and many beginners is when they close their eyes they are not really noticing. And that's another key to it... that of noticing self. I think people become too wrapped up in methods and techniques, and it prevents them from really noticing themselves.

Okay, so as I say, when I close my eyes all I see is blackness, which is normal. I'll wriggle around a bit to get comfortable, maybe my knee is itching and my hair is tickling my ear or something. So I'll sort all that out and just concentrate on breathing gently for 5 minutes or so. Now, because I am noticing as opposed to avidly trying to perfect and follow some technique or method, in the traditional sense, my full attention is taken by the simple act of noticing.

I read a post today where someone keeps trying and they are saying about how they are concentrating upon holding their awareness outside of themselves, and at the same time they are concentrating on "raising energy" and doing everything correctly, and whatever... but nothing is happening. That's right, because all their attention is fixated elsewhere, whereas all my attention is fixated on noticing.

Noticing what?

Well, nothing at first, there's not much to see really but blackness. But then, after a short while, I may see that perhaps one part of the blackness is not quite so black. Perhaps there was just a brief flash of something, then maybe a sensation of a movement somewhere else. Maybe I just heard someone call my name. Hmm, that's interesting, I might think, I wonder where that came from. But I don't get too curious I just keep noticing. I might see swirling areas of not quite so black as the rest. I might see flashes of this and that. As I am offering myself these images, my attention is steadily becoming more fixated within.

As my attention becomes fixated within, from the act of noticing, at this stage I am not aware of my physical body. Part of my awareness realises that somewhere in the background is a physical body, in bed, etc. but I have phased away from it. Before, the forefront of my awareness was my physical and 180 degrees turned around from that, in the background of my awareness, was the non-physical. But now there has been a "phase shift" i.e. a turning through 180 degrees. Now, my previous foreground (physical) is my background, and my previous background (non-physical) is my foreground."

During the summer I would have multiple OBE's every week. My journal really reflects that. Now that school has started back up they have slowed down. I bought a voice recorder so that has helped transfer my recordings to writings. I got to the point where I could induce them but the further I would travel would be in the vicinity of my house and yard. Now that I have been really busy I found it a bit harder to induce them while laying on my back in the morning.

Honestly i dont think theres a "fully trained" state. Its always a learning experience...And i can only induce them during the morning after a full nights rest. I simply cant just lie down and project at will at night or through meditation.
I wandered slowly there
I saw a field where a thousand corpses lie
Angels sang the hymn of the end
About monsters which they fought
Over our world

Like most things metaphysical, and life in general, people differ widely in their innate abilities. While there are some people who can go OBE nearly every time they try it is safe to say that Most of us have a far lower success rate.
Motivation and practice (meditation, energy work, hemisync, etc) are also factors that vary from person to person.
Speaking strictly for myself the success rate is actually quite low. I need to get into the pre-projection "state" naturally and when that does happen the rate of successful OBEs is only about 10% or so.

Starvingpercussionist is right about the more you project, the more easier it gets. I've projected hundreds of times and I don't really have a problem going OOB whenever I want to. For some reason though, if I take a shower in the afternoon (regardless of temperature), it decreases my chances of going OOB considerably for the rest of the day.

Ariel,

Been at this since 1987 and I am a experienced proficient weekly projector w/o fail. You have to give EVERYTHING to succeed. Just like anything else in life - if you want success there's ALOT of work behind it.. All is related to trial and error, documenting, journals, testing, giving of yourself back to the community, research, study etc. You get the idea.. The OBE does not end at just projecting having a good time... it is a lifetime commitment period!
