In my case it's not a matter of becoming unaware of my body, it's more like becoming indifferent. After a while the indifference causes body awareness to weaken and disappear. Just don't try to lose  awareness as this only makes you more aware of your body.

If you're able to relax well the indifferent state of mind will get you the results.
I sometimes get faster results if I just gaze of the imagery in my eyelids (also indifferently without attempting to place meaning on th eimages)

Trying to loose awareness will only make you more aware. You need to focus on something else wholely forgetting about your body, or become indifferent to it.

If you are having a lot of trouble with this I might offer a technique that might help. Basicly you lay down and get relaxed. Let yourself drift off to the boarder of sleep. Try to keep your mind awake while you let your body fall asleep. Let your mind drift, but try to pay attention and "jerk" your mind awake whenever you feel it starting to fall asleep. Be sure to try to just jerk your mind awake while leaving your body to fall over into sleep. If I do not fall asleep then I am usually able to get out with this method after a few "jerks", or a few times of allowing myself to drift and then pulling my consciousness back to awareness.
Something that should help with this technique is, at night when you are going to sleep do not just allow yourself to go right into it. Instead try to stay aware and pay attention as you are going to sleep. This should help your mind to stay awake when you are trying this method as well as getting use to what it is like to have your body falling asleep while your mind is awake. After a few weeks of doing this before I feel asleep, I would wake up outside my body. I would be floating a few inches or feet above it. I am sure that if I had been able to continue with it I could have used this to have OBE's as well.

Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

Hi all,

Can anyone give me a few pointers on how they forget about your body when getting into a relaxed state.  I seem to be ever consciouse of its presence.

I am not sat or laid thinking "I am not aware of my body" I relax and get very heavy, but I am always physically aware.

Any help would be gratefully received.
