Title: Psychotropic Drugs
Post by: stubborn-envelope on November 10, 2006, 12:51:45
Has anyone found that psychotropic drugs are a deterrant to OBEs or astral projection?  I take:

Seroquel (antipsychotic, mood stabalizer) 100 MG morning 300 MG night
Depakote (mood stabalizer) 500 MG night
Lexapro (antidepressant) 10 MG night

Strong medication you take there. I'm not sure exactly if it would be detterrent, it would affect your ability to concentrate and perform.

Usually, you can tell if a substance can prevent you from experiencing OBEs by checking if it suppresses dreams and/or memory. You still have the usual, unconscious separations that come with standard sleep, though.

I see.  These medications shouldn't keep me from succeeding, then.  My short-term memory is horrible, but I can still remember dreams at times.  These medications can actually make dreams more lucid and bizarre.  I had a dream about a character from The Little Mermaid eating someone with her hair.  Really weird....
