BeyondTheBounds

Hi, my name is Adam and I have just recently begun to rekindle my interest in Astral Projection.

Before I continue I guess I should speak a little about myself.

In my younger years (elementary school) I exhibited bouts of ESP, to the point of freaking out my peers and parents. I was able to almost read the surface thoughts of individuals I was talking to, gauge their emotions without them speaking (I can occasionally still do this), or know what people were going to say over the phone before they did. I never thought much of it, until I reached adolescence and began to experience premonitions. Sometimes they were minor, dreams of events that would occur in the day, or almost mind-shattering bouts of Deja-vu. Sometimes they were creepy, I remember staying over a friends house one night watching him play a video game (Final Fantasy 7) and at one point a number flashed through my mind, seconds later the exact same number appeared on the screen, needless to say I was freaked out.  :-o

Eventually I heard about Astral Projection, and after purchasing Adventures Beyond the Body by William Buhlman, I began to try and project. I didn't understand much of the book but I read his techniques and after a few attempts I began to feel the classic vibration phase. I was a little worried, but continued, my entire body felt like it was quaking, the vision under my closed eyes was flashing, my head was ringing, it was going to happen, I was so close........until my mom walked into the room with a bag of laundry and my concentration was shattered.  :|

After that day I began to suddenly feel a bit of guilt for my attempts, thinking I would go to hell or be punished (I was raised Roman Catholic). I got rid of the book and didn't think about it again.

Now I am a few years older and wiser, my views of spirituality have become mostly agnostic and very open, and I am ready to try again.

I am ready to touch the Astral.

I plan on picking up Mr. Buhlman's book once more and try to actually make sense of what I am reading, as well as use resources on this site to help me project.

Well that's about it, ill update on the appropriate forums with my experiences when I begin to show progress, until then its nice to meet you all!  :-D

Any friendly advice is welcome and extremely appreciated

Hi BeyondTheBounds,

Welcome to the forums.

I was too raised in the Roman Catholic Church, actually went to a private Catholic elementary and high school. I guess they hid Astral Projection from me because I don't really remember the subject ever coming up.

I have been agnostic for about 4 - 5 years now as well and just 4 months ago started trying Astral Projection. I have had about 15 OBEs in my 4 month span of trying and I am no longer agnostic. I am basically shifting my beliefs daily based on new experiences and it's just great.

I look forward to hearing about your experiences and would like to say thanks for coming here and sharing.

Best regards

David

Thanks dbmathis, Ive also begun to read your blog and find it extremely interesting

I also want to share an experience I had last night, when I tried to project on a whim.

It was extremely late, and I was very tired, so I laid back in my bed to fall asleep. I had been out and about biking around my campus that day so my body felt pretty weary, and relaxed. My mind however was very active so I decided to try and induce the hypnogogic state.

I began to control my breathing and count back from 100, i was surprised when I felt almost all of my awareness of stimuli, beside the sound of my breath and mental counting recede. As I continued, I felt the beginnings of the vibrations creep into my shoulders and legs, I did not get excited and continued the attempt.

However I began to notice something strange, as I was doing this my eyes were unconsciously rolling around in my head, at first I could hardly feel it, but they began to do it so rapidly I broke my focus and couldn't continue.

This all happened in the span of a few minutes, what was up with my eyes?
