Post by: okoklo on December 14, 2006, 11:40:33
I was woundering if when you conciously astral project if its possible that you can't remeber like a dream.  I ask this because recently when I've tried I'll kinda blank out and then when I come out I can't remember a thing but it doesn't feel anything like a dream.   :?

In Robert Bruce's book, Astral Dynamics he gives techniques for remembering your astral experience. He calls it, "Shadow Memory Download" and it occurs upon re-integration into the physical body...

Here's something you can try...

Before you project, give a solid intention that you will remember the experience completely. You may black out in the seperation process (when the astral body seperates from the physical) but keep the thought in mind that upon returning to your physical body, you will shout a key word (i.e. a word having something to do with your experience) over and over and over again until you are again in the physical body...

Also, have a notepad and pen sitting by your side for the moment you wake up. It only takes about 8-20 seconds to completely forget an astral experience, so as soon as you awaken, take the pen in your hand and start writing key words that have something to do with your memory of what you experienced. Once that's down, then you can write your experience using those keywords as "triggers" and recount it with much higher retention.

I've used this several times and it works wonders for me. :)
