Do pills effect AP'ing at all? I was just wondering because I took 4 hydrocodone tablets and had trouble even getting to the vibrations stage, which I can usually manage quite easily now.

Maybe this was just a flop, but I was wondering from people with experience or information on the subject if pills of any kind effect AP'ing at all as far as the actual process goes.

Thank you.

The pill you report taking is an analgesic & would be likely to reduce your perception of vibrations & other sensations as well as pain...

I believe they are more of an inhibitor, and taking them will limit your perception like newmethod was saying.

More information is available through many of the published authors (robert bruce and robert monroe).

Suggestion; You shouldnt be dependant on anything except your mind to project, it limits the experience, IMHO.

Thank you both, but I would like to note that it was NOT my original intention of taking the pills to assist me in AP'ing. I had already taken the pills and just as the effects began to kick in it came across my mind that it might be interesting to see what they would do for projecting. However, as the pills make it hard for the body to fall asleep willingly, I found myself trying to force pre-projection stages.

I most likely won't try this combination again, just wanted some insight.

Thank you.

Some of my most memorable experiences were on Ambien but I dont recommend taking it. It was years for me to get back to the point I was at when I was on that medication. I take Elivel/ativan now but I am at such low doses that I know my experiences are not side effects from the drugs since i have been able to increase/induce my experiences more rapidly while remaining on the same amount of Mg as my perscription

Yeah i wouldn't suggest using any pills whatsoever. But any pain pill is just gonna numb you and weigh you down. It's probably safe to say the visual imagery of any drug (i.e. vicodin= numbed/dopiness) will probably be able to be directly applied to your psyche. Meaning, if its a pain pill that makes you slow and heavy and dopey, its probably gonna make your concentration and your third eye slow and heavy and dopey. I don't recommend any pills but if you are just looking for informative reasons there are multiple drugs that have been reported to cause OBE's. The only problem is what i mean by this is that they DO NOT help INDUCE OBE's, but people have reported uncontrolled OBE's on them. These drugs are pretty much any hallucinogen. LSD, Psilocybin, Mescaline, Dextromethorphan (the active ingredient in cough syrup...you're a tool if you do this). The only drug I'd say that could literally help induce an OBE would be a benzodiazepine like ativan, xanex, etc...only because these are anti anxiety medications and they give you confidence and optimism. However, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TAKING BENNIES. They can easily become addictive. Finally, the last one however that i would recommend looking into is something called dream root ( I cant remember the actual name of it but this is the vernacular). I've been planning on going to a nearby herbal/vitamin store to check this stuff out. It's a completely legal herbal supplement that is reported to cause  extremely vivid dreams and essentially lucid dreams. I am hopeful to assume that this can also lead to an aid to OBE's seeing that many people project through lucid dreams. But what was also said above, I also agree that using anything to help induce OBE's can potentially stunt your experience seeing that you can easily end up relying on it. Good luck. I hope I was informative.

I just posted this on another thread but I'll repeat it.  The only time I can OOBE or AP is when I'm experiencing the sleep paralysis state.  As a matter of fact, your body will begin to vibrate when you start slipping into sleep paralysis.  If I take sleep medications that put me into a deep sleep, I'm unable to experience sleep paralysis and cannot have an OOBE or AP.  However, I have noticed that the best time for me to experience sleep paralysis is when my Darvocet medication starts to wear off.  I'll be lying on my bed watching TV and begin nodding off.  The comedown from the Darvocet makes it so that I nod off lightly and I can experience sleep paralysis.  Once in the sleep paralysis state, I can easily have an OOBE and sometimes an AP.  Now, I want to add that I take the Darvocet for chronic pain and not for the purpose of having an OOBE or AP.

Oh my yes. I strongly recommend you purchase the book:

"Advanced Lucid Dreaming: The Power of Supplements "  by Thomas Yuschak

There are over the counter vitamin supplements that do wonders for inducing OBE's...in particular "Galantamine". I've had some of the most amazing OBE experiences using the recommendations in this book. Taking the supplements I can nearly always have an OBE. These supplements are not mind altering  in anyway but are rather a tool to allow you to more easily have OBE's. I highly recommend this book.  Actually I just joined this board and I'd be surprised if there isn't a seperate thread on just this subject.
