Can anyone elaborate on this? I read through Ultimate Journey by Monroe and he talked about it. But he doesn't give a good description of it. I can't find a page that really describes the process.
Hi Skeletor
I believe Monroe's "quick-switch" is the same thing as "phasing". This explains it better detail than I can:

Isn't the quick-switch the shift in consciousness from the physical to the etheric body, followed by a projection?
Monroe discribed it as, stretching a part of you to your distination, like a long rubber band, and in turn, letting go of the end... and snap... you're there.
Never made much sense to me, but apparantly it became his standard way of traveling during "Ultimate Journey"
If anyone has ever sucessfully replicated this, I'd be very intersted in hearing about it! =)
Oh, I see...
This is what most refer to as teleportation... You place part of your consciousness into another place (plane/dimension/location/locale/focus level/whatever) and shift your whole astral body over there.
This is pretty much what people say when they describe teleportation -- you think of a place, and will yourself there.
Some people like to create portals or draw doors with their astral fingers, and when they go through, they find themselves in the place of their choice.
It all comes down to the same principle: you create kind of a "wormhole" from your current location to the destination.
In Monroe's case, he uses part of his consciousness as a grappling hook, he stretches, and pulls.
I've had an experience where I decided to go visit my grandfather, who passed away a few years ago. I didn't really think about how I would visit him, I just turned around, and there was a hole in the wall. Inside that hole, there was a hotel room, with my grandfather sitting up in a bed. All I had to do was fly up into that hole and I found myself there.
I'm still not sure whether it was truly a full-fledged OBE or a creation of the mind, but I did not create that hole intentionally, it just happened naturally when I thought "Let's go see grandpa!"
I experience somthing similar, when I tried to contact a relative, who had passed over. I tried a number of times, but did not suceed.
When I finally did, it seems that it was the emotional factor that played a critical role.
Perhaps emotion can work as a quick swith method in itself, I have not investigated this, but I suspect it could.
The transition to the point of contact was instantanious, no movement at all.
Isn't it just another description of switching focus? Only in this case, I imagine instead of the whole OBE experience with separation and etc., you just teleport from one focus to another instantly.
I agree, everything in relation to out of body experience is a matter of switching focus, from one area to another.
