How Soon Is Too Soon?

There is no time where they go. You should be able to contact them before or after they die and they will be settled in.

How soon is it possible to step into contact with a deceased person while OBE, and is there a period one should wait for that person to settle in before contact is attempted?
Can anyone tell me based on their experiences? I would like to try it out soon.
