Title: Random question and help for AP needed
Post by: Fierys on May 18, 2006, 21:46:44
I hear some users report an exit technique, so does this mean theoretically you could get stuck in AP mode? Just curious.

And i was wondering if anyone could direct me to a beginners guide to projecting the mind. I used to get sleep paralysis as a kid and have always been very "out there", and have known about AP and lucid dreams for years now, just never exerted enough energy to warrent futher research. I have sat aroud and focused my mind inward before, but never enough to label it projection. I have felt vibration before though i reckon, it seems like something i have experienced before. I have definantly experienced fluttering eyelids before, whenever i try to meditate with all of my focus, my eyelids begin to flutter very fast. another question, I have heard some intoxicants can curb the difficulty of this task? I dont have dreams when i smoke weed, and i have quit due to legal obligations for a few years atleast.

Thank you for the advice ahead of time.

What some people mean be an exit technique is simply one that gets them out of the body. Sometimes, when close to the separation in astral projection, some people find that they can't leave their bodies. I have been able to leave the body naturally and with no sensations simply by remaining conscious and allowing the body to fall asleep. There are many techniques to 'rush' astral projection. In this case, the body does not completely fall asleep, and the separation is either impossible or difficult. In these cases, body parts might move; or there might be unnatural reactions and sensations that occur from the inability to separate.

Mantras can be used to 'still' mental activity as the body falls asleep naturally; an alternative is just to remain still, do nothing, and not tune out

Although I don't smoke marijuana myself, I don't recommend using it to try to astral project.

Hello Fierys and welcome.

You can't get stuck in astral mode; your astral double (projected body) will run out of energy and will return eventually.

Best,
