Reaching Vibrations

So The last few months I have more or less given up actively trying to project due to poor results at best. I have been working on projecting for about 10 years now with literally a 99.99% fail rate. I have never left my body other than on one rare occasion that I actually broke free and was so amazed I honestly thought I really just woke up and threw myself out of my bed on accident.

anyways The last few months I have noticed I have had a lot of bad dreams. Or dreams that have disturbing elements in them. The Recurring theme is I am dead, or pretending to be to avoid some kind of fear or harm.

On every occasion in my dream that I " play dead " or think I am dying I feel a strange numbness come over my dream body that steadily turns into vibrations. I feel them get stronger and stronger and then nothing ( on most occasions )

However sometimes I am able to kinda, pull away I guess. I feel like i'm  more or less trying to swim against a cruise liner propeller. It feels like heavy resistance in water. It is a rather weird feeling and I am yet to beat the current that is pushing/pulling me back. I usually run out of " energy " and I am pulled back.

This morning my dog woke me up early to take him out to the bathroom at about 7:20 am...  about an hour and a half earlier than I would like to get up. I let him out and then came back to my room and laid down on my stomach. I got comfortable and thought " what the heck why not try " I tried to stay as conscious as  I could, just playing out my dreams in my mind how I wanted them to happen.  In passing I fantasized fighting and falling to the ground ( to the position I was laying on ) in that moment I felt the strange vibration. It came lightly became more intense and then faded. I thought to myself, no come back. and " willed " them back. I got a second wave of vibrations  which was amazing to me that it even happened a second time!

The way I brought them back was imagining I was grabbing a string of 550 cord ( military term, its just a really strong piece of small rope ) and pulling myself away from my body. The vibrations intensified as I imagined pulling... however I witnessed a soreness or pain in my lower back right in the lumbar. I am very sure this pain was not physical due to it passing when the vibrations did, and hurting more so when the vibrations intensified. I am unsure if it was my position ( on my stomach ) or if one of my chakras is not doing so well which would be totally possible.

Changes in life lately:
Cleaned up my diet
Better sleep
Sitting too much - sore neck/ upper back ( might be related to pain during vibrations )
Lost 10 pounds
cut sugar down to 100g or less a day * this is actually not that much sugar compared to the average american diet... *
cut out most caffeine.

I had been heavily addicted to caffeine and sugar. My diet was poor and so was my mood. I have suffered ptsd, depression with dysthymia, head trauma that has resulted in brain atrophy, as well as just normal daily stress.

I have cleaned up most of my afflictions ( diet wise ) and have seen an improvement with my overall depression since i have started to lose some weight.

I was wondering what others thought about this strange occurrence with the idea of using death as a gate to leave the body. I guess to me it just makes sense... I was raised christian and think of the soul leaving the body as I die. I suppose if it works there is no harm in it, but was curious if others have such weird  ways of exiting. Also curious as to if anyone has experienced changes in diet having heavy impact.

My take on this is that you are very close to a fully conscious exit but you are still struggling with the idea on an internal/subconscious level. You have been in a long process of asking your inner self permission to do this and in turn, granting yourself permission to do this. And it is showing itself in your dreams; quite literally your subconscious is presenting "what if...?" scenarios to see how the whole "you" will react to the idea of going oob. You are making dry-runs, practicing.

And that struggle is ok and probably normal for many of us to go through; I remember the same struggle to some degree. It really points to the fact that this requires some serious re-tuning of our inner selves. It's much more complex than we originally thought it would be. It's not just an intellectual exercise, not just a mental decision you make and assume the "rest" of you is going to follow along with, without complaining. You have to find agreement within your mental, emotional, spiritual selves and aspects, your subconscious, your ego. There's not a whole lot you can do other than to recognize what's going on and wait patiently for the rumblings to subside.

The lower back pain may very well have been an internal check of some sort to again test your readiness to have an exit. Early on we get a lot of these tests and they show up in different ways. Itches, scratches, drymouth, sniffles, and so on...then the hypnagogic stuff, pesky noises, voices, bangs, gunshots, screams...visual freaky stuff...and yes, finally whatever is doing this, your subconscious, your higher self, your astral Teacher, finally gets "physical" and jams a knife in your back! You jump out of bed saying Oww!! That really hurts! and your subconscious laughs and says I knew you weren't ready! I find it to be very sneaky, tricky that way, with a subtle sense of humor; that's why I think it's my subconscious, it knows all my weaknesses, lol.

You ended up in a WBTB Wake Back To Bed technique which is what works for me most often. You have the right attitude, take advantage of the moments when you get them; actually sometimes they are being "given" to you.

As for technique, I wouldn't get fixated on the death thing, but you're doing a variant of the Rope Technique. That's fine. Also, in a WBTB situation, just try observing yourself as the body slides back off into sleep. You will often see a long procession of images and visuals and if you wait long enough the visuals will slow down and stabilize to the point where you can literally step into the scene-that's Phasing.

To help resolve the inner discussion and dreams, you might try saying an affirmation every night for a couple weeks. Something like-
" I give myself permission to have an out of body experience. I know that I am always safe and protected."
Or-
"Out of body experience is natural and normal. I am ready and would like to do it."

Repeat it for a week or two, then change it up a few times. It may help to reassure those inner voices.

Next time you're that close to the exit, remember to stay calm and detached; ignore everything that tries to distract you from your goal, it will eventually give-up.

You are really close! Have fun!

Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.

Hi Monte.  I hope you can find answers.

Quoteanyways The last few months I have noticed I have had a lot of bad dreams. Or dreams that have disturbing elements in them. The Recurring theme is I am dead, or pretending to be to avoid some kind of fear or harm.

This makes complete sense to me as projection or the idea of leaving your body probably has programmed your subconscious about it in a literal way.

QuoteHowever sometimes I am able to kinda, pull away I guess. I feel like i'm  more or less trying to swim against a cruise liner propeller. It feels like heavy resistance in water. This is quite typical of a projection in which you're close to your body.  It happens a lot at first.  Not sure why.

I found the early morning an excellent time to project because you're already relaxed but are not exhausted.  It's when I project the most.

This is what we call the 'rope technique', a method that has been around for a while.  It's considered an exit technique, and the symptoms you describe (vibrations, heaviness, torso energy surge) are natural for them.

I don't think it's strange at all, I would consider it to be an expected psychological side effect of your spiritual pursuits.

Even though I don't personally think projection causes the soul to separate, (I think it's either consciousness, the energy body or a combo of both that moves or expands outwards), I think it is some sort of 'training' for the actual event at the end of the incarnation process, amongst other things.  But this is not said with authority, it's just my belief.
Anyway, I'm glad the rope technique worked for you.
Why?

ANMonte87

Ya. I am excited to try again tomorrow morning. My dog tends to wake me up around the same time each morning to go outside. However My son is spending the night tonight so it complicates things a little bit!  :) hes a good kid though so i might have to wait another night.

I have been thinking about it all day though. it is always fun in the process and I always regret not doing X,Y, or Z at the time its happening.

when I feel the heavy resistance I can't see anything either. I feel like i am trapped in the room and its pitch black. I can also still feel my physical body and WOULD be able to move it had i tried to.

I will try again tonight. I really think my diet and overall happiness has played a large part on my failures.

This confirms my suspicion that you're too close to your physical body and having feedback.  If you think you'll move deepen the trance before you attempt an exit- if blind, just 'feel' your way away from your body and vision will clear up.  You don't need to 'see', but I realize it's easier when you see.  So then you can go further away.
Why?

ANMonte87

Hmm that makes a lot of sense I have NEVER tried to project or visualize myself anywhere except ( inside my own body ) like trying to lift up or being right there near my body because I'm so compelled to try and see my sleeping body after hearing people say they have so many times :P.

I will try to move away from my body next time it happens.  I put sugar back into my diet the other day as well as eating more fatty foods and the repercussions on my mental, physical, and spiritual self are horrid. As much as I love sugar and fatty foods. I think I might be giving most of them up forever... Cutting them out of my diet really helped me get all the close to projections lately I believe.

Thanks for the positive feedback...

So if I do happen to project what should i do? should i stay away from my body? is it ok to look? should i go someplace in particular?

Looking at your body tends to end many people's AP right then and there. Simply because not only does it freak you out, but it also puts your attention back on your physical body, which is something we want to avoid.

Get away and go adventure. There is a new frontier to be had!
