Title: Real Time Zone.. to Astral Plane.. how?
Post by: Matthew Kingsley on December 13, 2003, 07:52:55
Your last question about techniques to use when your body is relaxed
I'd like to respond to.

One of the best techniques I ever used to get out of body involves using a lucid dream as a spring board to produce out of body experiences. Let me explain....

Once I become aware and conscious I'm dreaming in a lucid dream I bring my consciousness back to my body laying in bed. I do this without moving a muscle but just feeling for the bed. Once I can feel the covers and myself laying in bed I quickly induce a falling feeling in my stomach. Reproduce the feeling you might experience when driving over a large dip in the road and your stomach drops. Or the feeling involved with the stomach and body as one goes down the first big hill off a roller coaster ride. A strong falling feeling will knock you back into trance. From the time you sense your body in bed you MUST induce the falling feeling immediately or risk your body fully waking up. When your in trance you'll hear and feel a humming or buzzing or full blown vibrations. Use full body feeling awareness to hold your position away from your laying position somewhere in the room. The foot of the bed is alright. Concentrate on your personal coordinates and your bodily awareness away from where your laying. This PRESSURES your real time double to generate and extrude to your mental coordinates. This is one of the best ways to take advantage of your already resting body which has collected some energy from sleep. When this technique is attempted your physical body has minimum tension and alot of relaxation.

You already mentioned staring at your hands helps a little.  I'm here to tell you that staring at anything will help.  Just don't stare too long or else it will suck all your concentration into that one thing and you'll lose control.

Another thing I tell people on this forum is to take deep, big astral breaths of air.  As the air goes into your body, you get more energized and it helps me prolong the experience.

Not sure if I can help you here.  Usually, when I project, I find myself in one place, whether it be in my room or some other location.  Then, usually my entire experience will revolve around that one place.  I don't really get up and fly anywhere else, unless it's somewhere in the vicinity where I can see where I'm going.

3. And lastly... does anyone know a method or technique to advance to the Astral Plane from the RTZ?

Like I said, I usually stick to exploring the place where I immedietely project to.  However, I have heard it said that if you close your eyes while projecting and imagine yourself going inward, you usually go to some other astral realms.

Another thing you can try is when you're in the RTZ or in the black void, tell yourself that you want to travel to the Astral Pulse Island.  That is located in the astral and many of us have been there.

Hi amed
I find that looking at my hands helps me too.Getting out of the immediate vicinity of my physical body makes navigation easier and can help with vision too.
I move from RTZ to Astral simply by placing an intent to go there and then moving in any direction;outwards or inwards. It often involves shooting off somewhere at a high rate of speed. What you call
a "dream in the sky" or " a random scene" sounds like what I`d call an AP.
I certainly can`t get out at will and I`ll only be concious during exit maybe one out of seven times although they seem to come in bunches.I`ve had some success with repeating an affirmation as I drift off to sleep:" I become aware as I leave my body".Then I become concious during vibrations before separation.
It doesn`t strike me that you`re having setbacks-just learning experiences.

Happy Trails

Thank you all for your replies.

I will remember these helpful hints the next time I find myself in that familiar place we all know and love.

Good luck!

Hey there,

I was looking for anyone fairly advanced in the practice of leaving the body that could offer some insight to a few of my setbacks as of late.  Any help will be appreciated.

I'll just list them, in no particular order.

1.  Once I find myself in the real time zone (my room, identical to the present), are there any excercises or methods to increase concentration and/or duration of the event?  I've noticed that if I stare at my hands, which are usually translucent and cool to look at anyhow, I can stay for a bit longer than usual.  I was curious if anyone had any systematic method of maintaining present awareness and thought control in the real time zone.  I find that I often dip into a lucidity with no control after a short while.

2.  Anyone have any helpful tips on navigation in the RTZ?  I find that I have to strain ever so hard to float around.  Are there any special practices advanced practioners employ to ease mobility in the non-physical realms?

3. And lastly... does anyone know a method or technique to advance to the Astral Plane from the RTZ?  The few times I have maintained clarity of thought enough to think to ascend to a higher player, I ended up shooting through my room... and either flying around my city for what seemed like hours or ending up in a lucid dream based somewhere in the sky (a spaceship or some random scene).

4.  Actually, one more.  To those that can get out at will on a regular basis.. aside from the 'wake up 2 hrs before hand.. etc' methodology, can you share any interesting techniques once one's body is completely relaxed?  I have only left consciously one time in my life.  It was amazing / frightening but I'd like to do it again sometime (that time involved sleep deprivation caused by exams).  These days, I usually find myself out of my body and in the RTZ based on will and intention before sleeping.

Thanks.. hope to hear from ya soon.
