how do you know those dreams you had were actually other peoples' lives? according to the eternal now theory (in the articles section), you're living all your lives at once, as time is only here to divide up our lives and organize them, so if one of your 'past' lives was someone famous, they could be writing history you learned in school, or you could be writing history for one of your 'future' lives now, but it's all parallel and when you die they catch up with you and you gain all your memories from each life.

the only way to prove or disprove this theory is to die and see if the memories of other lives suddenly hit you and see if you become aware of them. and even then, maybe some people only have 1 life to live here in the physical, and that's all they need, for whatever reason.

the christian church used to teach reincarnation, up until 350 ad, from what i understand. then, as people realized the idea of having more than 1 life would be used in a negative way, satan and hell suddenly appeared. you won't find any threats of going to hell instead of heaven prior to 350 ad. it's like they were introduced to keep people in line.

No leaf where did you get your info about the year 350 ad for when they changed there teachings regarding reincarnation.  Any sources would be helpful

Actually to answer in place of leaf the whole concept of reincarnation was thrown out by the council at Nicene in approx 350 ad. There are some Gnostic sects that beleived in reincarnation and there is some scriptural evidence for it in the Holy Bible. Interestingly enough the Bible canon was formed as well in 350 AD. In that I mean that the council decided which books would go in and which were considered "heretical". Below is an excellent link on the topic of biblical reincarnation and I urge you to check it out.

If reincarnation is true than I see no reason to not beleive that this is hell. i hope that this is my life and mine alone.

A way to possibly tell wether it was your life or someone elses that you were viewing is to check if you remember it.  When my past life memories are triggered, I actually remember being there.  How can someone elses life be remembered?  Those must be just dreams.

Most of us will agree that a spirit uses at least 1 body. When I play a video game, I usually want to play more than once. Whats different about a spirit and this game?

How can you be so sure those dreams you have, those thoughts, the 'deja vu' experiences are all yours, and not the product of channelizing someone/something? As a very young child I had de recurrent awake experience of a soft warm rain, like drizzle, except it was dark and floated featherlike to the ground, covering everything (I had never watched TV or gone to the movies at that time). It was many years later that I found out that the 'rain' was actually volcanic ash, and had never seen a volcano active or not. Because of that experience, could I say I had reincarnated as a resident of Herculaneum or Pompei?, or an ancient Inca village at the foot of an Andean volcano?

The difference betweeen this and a video game is simple... You dont have control of "this". You cant just hit the "reset" button.  There are bigger forces at hand and just because you may have "messed up" in your life does not mean that God is going to just let you at it again. We should be thankful for our time here and now and recognize that there is a problem and that we need help. Otherwise we would have all the answers and would know "where" God is. There is but one mediator between God and man and his name is Jesus Christ.

i'm sure most or all of us are pretty well off even without a preaching here about 'god'.

we should treat life with respect and be thankful for our time here whether we are reincarnated are not. life isn't really comparable to a game, either. we're either here to learn from experiences, or here just for the hell of it with there being no point. i think it makes more sense that we're here to learn, and it may take more than one incarnation for us to learn what we need, but not neccessarily. once again, the only reason the satan and hell ideas are around is to keep people scared and in line. i don't think that was a good move on the part of christianity. the church tries to take too much responsibility for humanity. we should make our own decisions, without being blinded by such things, if have a faith in god.

Fisrtly, what make you think that your dream is your 'past-life experience of either you or other people. What I can say dream is a complicated subject unfortunately I can not enlignten this subject. However, reincarnation is a truth. There is an important reason for reincarnation and there are different level of planet of different level of spirituality. Ours is the lowest level.
According to the book of thiaoouba prophency www.thiaouba.com, there is nine levels of 'mediators' for human beings on earth. The first mediator is your higher-self which is withiin our reach.

Its actually just as simple as if you were playing mario bros. Jump into a big hole. Mario would never have the balls to do that without his player, though.

The dreams of the serpent are all too evident. He will do anything to blind you into thinking that you have control over death. All your astral dreams aside remember that at the time of death there is One who is above all others and He will be the One to deliver you from the hands of evil.

5Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
6Who, being in very nature[1] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
   7but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature[2] of a servant,
      being made in human likeness.
8And being found in appearance as a man,
      he humbled himself
      and became obedient to death--
         even death on a cross!
9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Often in dreams I have had what most would consider "past life experiences". I got to thinking though and if it is true that you are freed from space and time while "dreaming" could it just be that you are perceiving other peoples lives. In my case these dreams are aided with certain plants but the astral travel aspect is the same. For instance - even though I had the dream of being a Roman soldier and had images of killing Christians could it just be that my own personal soul of this body is perceiving what another life did?  I am in reality not that person. Since I am outside of time and space what I see or what body I may be in could just be another illusion. You hear of many people that beleive in reincarnation because of lucid dreams or ethno induced dreams but it makes you wonder how you seperate your personal place in things as opposed to just "watching" another persons life. Could the Orthodox Christian be right on this (Once to Live, Once to Die) Any comments?
