But the Big Bang is really a false scientific assumption in the formula's.  Even now scientists keep looking for 'Dark Matter' because the fomulas don't work.

The universe is flat [:P]
There is a physical limitation upon how much light a human body can sustain. Interestingly, there is no limit on how much light a human vessel can generate. When fully enlightened you must instill your light in order to maintain its wisdom.

ThunderStruck

Ok, but creationism is a load of BS. [|)]

There is either a God that created us in his image or at the very least the universe is intelligent.  The prime directive of the universe is to not only create life but also to create intelligent life.  Good post.

ThunderStruck

Once you have a planet suited for life, evolution will take its course.  We could have evolved in a different way to suit a different environment, you know.

JAW

Yeah, along the lines of what Thunderstruck was saying...
Of course its all "just right" and somehow perfect for us, if it werent, we wouldnt be here to talk about it.

Off on some distant planet there might be some other life form with who knows what physical features and planet makeup who are also saying, wow if our planet wasn't right between these two binary stars then we would have been pulled into one of them... etc.

Im sure all over the universe there were a million billion trillion "almost" life producing conditions, Id say earth was the one in a million billion planets that was lucky.

Definitely an amusing thought tho :)

Cheers
When you ask why some event happened, the only true and complete answer is "The Universe", because if any part of the Universe had been different, things would have happened differently - Eliezer S. Yudkowsky

Anyone ever read the E-Book Above Black.  I have spent alot of time at Ft. Meade Md and this fellow is correct what he states in reguards to the layout and organization of the base and NSA.  I just have a gut feeling he is telling the truth about Alien communication.  I think what alot of us suspect is true.  There is intellegent life throughout the universe, There is a God, we have souls as do all beings that are self aware, astral projection is true also.

Well 19's post is a very interesting post, but just to repeat what JAW and ThunderStruck pointed out....  the Earth, Sun, Moon, gravity, tilt, spin, magnetic fields etc are NOT designed to allow humans to live here!!!

The exact REVERSE is true.... humans (and all other physical life here) have evolved to suit the particular physical conditions here.

Given that there are billions of galaxies, and billions of stars in each galaxy, it's a statistical certainty that some of these will have planets capable of supporting physical life, and this life will have evolved in whatever way it needed to live there.  There might be beings which breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen (like our plants do)!!!

But all of that aside, I'm not sure that the Big Bang theory is still generally accepted as being true.  Apparently there isn't enough matter in the universe to make the equations add up.  I do know however that the most recent theories suggest that the universe is 11-dimensional, and consists of an infinite number of parallel universes separated by a whisker with gravity waves washing through the whole lot.  It's all very weird.

I personally find it hard to think that this was all some sort of big accident.  So there has to be some sort of reason behind it all?

Regarding aliens, it seems to me that there must be other physical lifeforms in the universe.  Whether they actually know about our little planet and can get here is another matter.  And if they do visit, as I suspect they actually do, then perhaps it's via some other dimension and sort of just "pop" into our physical space in their spacecraft.

It seems to me there is more physical evidence for the existence of UFO's than any other paranormal event.  By this I mean countless sightings, often mass sightings, video footage, radar recordings, accounts given by military personnel, commercial airline pilots, the police out on patrol and the like.  So i think something has to be going on there...!

The bad news is there's no key to the Universe. The good news is it's not locked. - Swami Beyondananda

I reckon the big bang happened - it's how God sparked off this giant simulation called the universe.

He programmed in all the rules for gravity, energy etc, introduced a load of energy and matter, and sparked it all off to let it mingle and evolve.

Obviously he came across a few problems - water became a gas at too-low temperatures, and since life didn't come about unless water was liquid at these temperatures he had to tweak the physics of oxygen and hydrogen a bit to allow 'Hydrogen bonding' - fellow chemists will know what I mean.

Ozone was another one - without this, harmful rays prevented any meaningful life from developing, so again he tweaked the physics of oxygen.

At one point there was this planet called Earth, ruled by huge reptilian-like land creatures.  But these creatures didn't have much potential - God realised that mammals had more potential for his 'experiment' so sent a huge asteroid flying towards the planet to kill them all.

Finally he let the simulation run for a while and found a rather curios species, the homo sapien.  This was just what he was looking for, so he integrated his consciousness into the species, created the energy bodies on the other dimensions that were required for this integration to occur, and let them 'live'!  Thus began the exploration of life through the human species.  This integration *may* have happened 6 thousand years ago, by-the-way.

Now, unfortunatley not all went to plan initially.  There reached a point where the humans didn't quite 'get' what they were supposed to do with their lives.  They gave in to their animalistic instincts, their egos, and everything became just a bit unruly.

God therefore sent some enlightened beings onto the planet, people with a much higher awareness of the world and the purpose of the 'experiment'.  These people spread teachings of resisting temptataion, leading life as a spiritual journey.  These people were Jesus, Budda etc etc.

These beings suceeded very well.  In the present day there is an acceptable ratio of religious/spiritual people and non-spirtual people in the world.  The experiment is going well: life experience is being gained.

And that just about sums it up I think.  Believe it or not, I'm not joking either! :)

Hello ppl

This is a lengthy article about Earth and Universal phenomena which I derived from a website focusing on the miracles and signs of God, its something good and interesting to read when your bored.

In the Book "A Brief History of Time", Stephen Hawking recognises this extraordinary precision in the universe's rate of expansion:

If the rate of expansion one second after the big bang had been smaller by even one part in a hundred thousand million million, the universe would have recollapsed before it ever reached its present size.

From the force of the Big Bang explosion to the physical values of atoms, from the levels of the four basic forces to the chemical processes in the stars, from the type of light emitted by the Sun to the level of viscosity of water, from the distance of the Moon to the Earth to the level of gases in the atmosphere, from the Earth's distance from the Sun to its angle of tilt to its orbit, and from the speed at which the Earth revolves around its own axis to the functions of the oceans and mountains on the Earth: every single detail is ideally suited to our lives. Today, the world of science describes these features by means of the concepts of the "Anthropic Principle" and "Fine-Tuning." These concepts summarise the way that the universe is not an aimless, uncontrolled, chance collection of matter but that it has a purpose directed towards human life and has been designed with the greatest precision.

Gravity:

- If gravity were stronger, excessive ammonia and methane would collect in the Earth's atmosphere, which would have a most damaging effect on life.

- If it were weaker, the Earth's atmosphere would lose excessive quantities of water, making life impossible.

The Earth's Distance from the Sun:

- If this were any greater, the planet would grow very cold, the water cycle in the atmosphere would be affected, and the planet would enter an ice-age.

- If the Earth were any closer to the Sun, plants would burn up, the water cycle in the Earth's atmosphere would be irreparably damaged, and life would become impossible.-

The Thickness of the Earth's Crust:

- If the crust were any thicker, then an excessive amount of oxygen would be transferred to it from the atmosphere.
- If it were any thinner, the resulting amount of volcanic activity would make life impossible.

The Speed at which the Earth Revolves:

If this were any slower, the temperature difference between day and night would grow enormously.

-If it were any faster, then atmospheric winds would reach enormous speeds, and cyclones and storms would make life impossible.

The Earth's Magnetic Field:

- If this were any more powerful, very strong electromagnetic storms would arise.

- If it were any weaker, then the Earth would lose its protection against the harmful particles given off by the Sun and known as solar winds. Both situations would make life impossible.-

The Albedo Effect (Ratio between the amount of light the Earth reflects and the amount of light that is absorbed):

- If this were any greater, an ice-age would rapidly result.

- If it were any less, the greenhouse effect would lead to excessive warming. The Earth would first be flooded with the melting of the glaciers, and would then burn up.-

The Proportion of Oxygen and Nitrogen in the Atmosphere:

- If this were any greater, vital functions would be adversely accelerated.

- If it were any less, vital functions would adversely slow down.
The Proportion of Carbon Dioxide and Water in the Atmosphere:

- If this were any greater, the atmosphere would overheat.

- If it were any less, the temperature of the atmosphere would fall.

The Thickness of the Ozone Layer:

- If this were any greater, the Earth's temperature would fall enormously.

- If it were any less, the Earth would overheat and be defenceless against the harmful ultraviolet rays emitted by the Sun.

Seismic Activity (Earthquakes):

- If this were any greater, there would be constant upheaval for living things.

- If it were any less, the nutrients at the sea bottom would fail to spread into the water. This would have a damaging effect on life in the seas and oceans and all living things on Earth.-
The Earth's Angle of Tilt:

The Earth has a 23 degree angle of inclination to its orbit. It is this inclination that gives rise to the seasons. If this angle were any greater or any less than it is now, the temperature difference between the seasons would reach extreme dimensions, with unbearably hot summers and bitterly cold winters.

The Size of the Sun:

A smaller star than the Sun would mean the Earth would freeze and a larger star would lead to its burning up.

The Attraction between the Earth and the Moon:

- If this were any greater, the powerful attraction of the Moon would have extremely serious effects on atmospheric conditions, the speed at which the Earth revolves around its own axis and on the ocean tides.

- If it were any less, this would lead to extreme climate changes.-

The Distance between the Earth and the Moon:

- If they were just a little closer, the Moon would crash into the Earth.

- If they were any further, the Moon would become lost in space.
