Relaxed my eyes during meditation earlier today.

The results were incredible. I read a sticky on here by Xanth. It did wonders for me! All I can say is if you relax your eyes when attempting to astral project you will get great results. At one time I felt my 3rd eye chakra start to pressure up. Then... my heart chakra opened up. It was an amazing feeling. I have always felt my 3rd eye chakra but the heart one was very new. At One time my all arm twitched and I hit my wall lol. xD I had several energy bursts during the session as well. I honestly think if my cat didn't jump on me I would have had more stuff happen too.

Tip: Try to dim the lights, or even turn all of them off when doing this. That way your physical eyes don't squint as much!

Hey! glad it worked for you. But for some reason, if I focus on relaxing my eyes, they just wont. Did you relax them, by not thinking in them??. What I do is just not to think in my physical body at all. But of course every mind is different. Glad you've found your trick.

Also, the heart chakras is amazing isn't it??. The warm feeling, and the chest almost opening up is surely something I suggest!

The heart chakra was definitely a wonderful feeling. I did this relaxing my eyes technique last night... I also asked my guides for help and I had an OBE last night. :-D I'm gonna post it here in a bit. What I do is just relax my eyes as much as possible. If you think about it that's okay too at first. Just get to where you can have them relaxed without thinking about it. Try practicing closing them and just relaxing everything in them. Soon you will hold that feeling. Don't focus on them too much though! They tend to twitch and do other crazy things if you do it too much. The trick is to just simply relax.  :-D

Relaxing the eyes is a big step towards being able to meditate much easier.  Next work on the muscles in your head.
I can tell how well a meditation session is going to go by how quickly I can feel all the separate muscles in my head relax.  :)

You're forehead would be a big one. Kinda around your eyebrow area. It's crazy to think how tense our bodies are and we don't usually realize it. This is why I think meditation helps me so much. Not to mention it makes astral projection a whole lot easier.

The "tough" zones are the eyes, forehead, cheeks, ears and scalp... well... I probably should have just said every muscle in my head.  ROFL

And yeah, it's amazing just how tense we are.  I didn't really notice it, especially with the muscles in my head, until I actually REALLY started looking.

Thanks for the tip OP. I found myself this morning entering spontaneous sleep paralysis and remembered this thread. So I thought to relax the eyes and it worked getting me deeper into a brief, but definite projection :)

A simple way to relax your eyes is to stretch and relax them before each mediation/phasing session. Just look as far as you can in every direction for 10-20 seconds and then just let them relax. At least for me it works wonders. It doesn't remove the squinting completely, but the difference is immense.

That's something I teach as well.  :)
