This is an interesting technique, I will start practicing it.

In this technique it seems the end result before an OBE is that the mind is split all over the place and is not focused on the body itself. In the triangle method and life line techniques the mind is focused on something that doesn't have a physical analog to the body. Do you think that the common thing among all the techniques is to get the mind to forget about the body?

OverDriven

I just tried this while awake with eyes open, and I can feel its effect. Seems like it would be great to use just as a projection technique. It has the effect of disorienting your position in space, while keeping the mind focused at the same time. Good post!

The "power of meditation" is very strong. Meditation that is done over years can completely change the meditator. What the gravity reminds me is actually the feeling of free fall, it is that feeling that I reached for to get the vibrations. Gravity also makes you feel as if you "sink" into your mattress, that is very good to relax. I haven't tried the other ones, but there are many sensations that can acompany meditation, such as floating, which here reminds me of the buoyancy you mentioned. I believe meditation is very good in general and the object of the meditation will have a different effect on different people. I have only started with meditation, though I have practiced different method of relaxation, concentration and even absorption.

jonas

What exactly is the triangle method and the life line technique?

findtruth

I tried the meditation.[:)]  It works well for putting me in a trance state, but it didn't help me project.  I'm having problems with that anyway, but your medition is great.  Do you have any others you'd like to share?[:P]

Seems I have to refine how I put this one first [:)] Everyone I talk to on a personal basis does one thing or another wrong which is my fault for not explaining it correctly.

Sam

I will try this tonight and tell you how I go.  It sounds very promising!

Edi

Just by trying it sitting on this chair, I notice how it greatly increases how I feel my body... that's a very nice way to get this sensual feeling and greatly increases awareness!
it's love you're looking for

*cringes a bit*
That's one of the probs with this description I made I believe you have to lay down for it to be effective completely.

Edi

Please excuse that I didn't have the leisure do lie down to try it yet... i understand that it's meant to be done while lying, and I'll try it this evening.. what I wanted to say is that I noticed effects even while sitting, so it must be much better in a relaxed state in bed.
Sorry again if I twisted around what you said.

No my fualt, forgot to mention that doing it sitting down is not...correct. The body should be in the natural relaxed position.

Basically It can screw up your internal energy if you do it sitting down. The reason for this is because you are focusing gravity, but then you got the added weight on top of your butt. This ruins the focus a bit, thus resulting in bad tech.

Wasn't trying to start an argument or saying "WRONG DAMMNIT" My fault in first place (Yes i say it again[;)]) for not telling you guys correctly.

Linda's Merry-Go-Round Meditation

I like the feel of the 9 Heavens meditation and ended up making up my own version of it that I thought I would share.  I usually do this lying down at night.  I visualize being on a horse on a merry-go-round.  First I am just sitting on the horse and feel it beneath me. Then I feel the motion of going up and down and up and down and up and down. Then I feel the wind against my face and body as we go round and round and round. Sometimes I move into visualizing myself walking on the merry-go-round (as the ticket taker might do) in the opposite direction of which we are turning.

It seems like feeling all these different movements and forces has a way of shaking the energy body loose of the physical body. Once you feel the energy body outside of the physical body -- well then, just get the heck away from your physical body as quick as you can.

Peace - LindaS.

SpectralDragon

The way that technique is used reminds me of creating thought forms.

Updated again, too many people not understanding the "feeling part"

SpectralDragon

I believe the original name of this meditation is 9 heavens awareness, but not sure, I just call it Heaven Awareness, or Element awareness.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE LYING DOWN. The people I have talked to are all sitting up-SD

Lie down on your back, then close your eyes. Relax your body as much as possible before trying this exercise. You are going to focus on elements in nature that put physical force on your body. The first one I usually think of is gravity. Gravity pulls every particle, every square inch of your body down. You should feel the gravity pulling you down, and continue to feel it's presence while trying this exercise.

Once you got that, keep it there, and then work on something else. Air pressure is the next thing I usually work on. the air holds your individual components in, your organs and everything in your body. Focus on the air pressure squezzing you in, and then feel the pressure of your body countering it as a third step as well. Keep this and the first thing you kept in your mind while doing the fourth fifth, sixth, and seventh steps. To do the fourth through seventh think of other elements and focus on thier effect on your body.

Note: the "feel" is important, you do not visualize in this exercise. This might be hard for some of you to do. If that is the case I would use a different exercise. For others this exercise will be easy.
Others: The pressure of what you are laying on lifting you up
The pressure of the world going around in circles
The pressure of the world going around the sun
The pressure of Bouyancy (the force of lifting, like a balloon in water)
The heat in the air going in and out of you
The pressure of the solar system flying through space.
(anything else in nature, the wind blowing, the suns rays affects on your body, ect.)
The pressure your clothing is having on you.

You will not be able to do all seven steps in one sitting, get as far as you can with each sitting, do this along with your AP'ing exercises, and then try to project. After the seventh step you should DEFINITELY be able to project.

Any other forces to add to this list would be welcome [:)]

SD's notes: Some people graivity cannot be a base as they feel "tied down" if this is the case for you I would refrian from using gravity at all again.

-Updated, version 1.whatever. LOL
