Hello,

Before I say anything I want to apologize if I sound overly formal or "stuck-up" in any way. Expressing this kind of idea makes me reflexive come off as such. I currently a psychology major in collage that plans to conduct experiment on this phenomena and want to get a feel for the community surrounding it.

Some friends and I have gained more consistent ability to induce out of body experiences and have been trying different experiment ideas; for example, attempting to meet out-of-body, writing down what we experienced, and trading papers to see similarities. We've had some promising results. We've also had a fair amount of negative results but our positive result are interesting enough to motive further attempts. I plan on eventually making more formal experiments with a larger group in more controlled settings, the one I'm doing with friends are more or less for fun. Anyway, because this is a relatively active forum on projection I was wondering if anyone here has experiment ideas and I am interested to hear the results of any attempted experiments- particularly ones involving more then one person.

I feel I should mention that I'm most interested in objective information. I've become very interested in the subject but I'm put-off by seeing almost everyone inject their beliefs into what they have to say about out-of-body experiences. I understand that since this experience involve a good deal of subjectivity and a hard look at the subject may not be possible; however, from what I've read and experienced I think it is possible to gain some basic useful information about this phenomena with which most can agree.  To better summarize observations should be separated from interpretations of events. That is, if an interpretation cannot be inferred from what is known then it should be stated separate from the "facts". Thank you for reading and I hope to hear some good responses.

Try not to be too put off by what people have to say about OBEs.
Everyone has an opinion and this is the place for them to express it.

That being said, always let your own experiences guide you on such matters. No amount of reading, book learning or opinion can substitute for an actual OBE.

Interpretation and analyses of an OBE is just okay at best. As you know, nothing can replace actually experiencing an out of body travel. In the end only you can describe to us what your OBE was like and other peoples comment are just opinions, which is no substitute for the experience.

sthomo,

Is English your first language?  Your scientific interest in this phenomenon
has me wondering if you are aware of Governmental study and use of OBE/Astral
for Foriegn Intelligence Operations and Strategy?   I would tend to think that
only practitioners able to do conscious OBE (while awake) would ever be considered.
This eliminates any chance of vivid dream illusions.
