Title: Robert Monroe and the H Band Noise
Post by: cube on May 17, 2004, 15:15:48
I asked about this a while ago in:
http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11567&SearchTerms=voices

I'm pretty sure that it is the collective consciousness of humanity, or the H-band as Monroe described it. I have a feeling it's not astral people chattering and it's almost certainly not ghosts or 'dead' people.

I asked about this in the 'Mediating an Arch Angel' thread (http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10843&whichpage=14) and the reply was that if you listen to the "larger voice" it's actually coherent.

I haven't made it to the H-band recently so I haven't given that a try but please let us know if you do and are able to listen to the larger message.

I actually just read this book yesterday and happen to have it here, he's got a glossary in it:

(M) Field
Nonphysical energy field that permeates time-space including our Earth Life System, but is not part of our current human scientific knowledge or study.

H-Band
The wave of disorganized human thought modulation of the (M) Field energy.

Some people may find it hard to believe in anything like what robert monroe describes as H band noise, but when you think about it thoughts in themselves (our consciousness) is energy ok and each thought uses energy, the question is after you had the thought and you are now thinking about something else where do these thoughts or the energy used when having these thoughts go. Once we move on and think about something else does it simply disappear or is there more to it, I think its not as simple as one would think. Some people never ever think about things like this, that is why I love forums like this one (people here actually like to think).
I have never experienced anything like the "H-band noise" but when I drift to sleep but still a little conscious I hear voices some may suggest its just hypnagogic auditory crap which what I experience could be just that and I also experience this upon awakening. One or two times I fell asleep with one of my family members in the same room and I would drift off and hear their voice say something then I would ask them about it but would be told they never said it, a few times they were thinking it though and admitted to it. So I am not sure if there is more to it than one would think or not it could just be coincidence. Once I am able to project maybe I could look into things like this more but as of now its been a little over 5 or 6 months trying to project twice a day to no avail. I have had results weird ones but never a full on seperation.
The state I get to more I could only describe as having sounds feel as though they have a physical impact on me, which is something I want to look into. I am not sure if anyone else has experienced this but the feeling is really odd, I would hear a sound in a certain state of mind and maybe half a second later or faster I weird feeling kind of like feels wind and electricity at the same time sweep from head to feet or whatever direction the sound came from. If the sound comes from the direction of my feet the feeling will go from my feet up to my head, and if its from the direction of my head it will go from my head to my feet. Another weird thing is this will happen even if I am wearing ear plugs and a sound occurs, so I dont even have to hear the sound for this effect to take place.
Well I think I may have wrote too much, but anyway good luck to everyone with their practice. Take care,
                                    T.L.

Hi T.L.,

It sounds like you're hearing hypnagogic sounds, for me those happen at at a level not quite as deep as the H-Band. It could be that when we hear those we have tuned ourselves to the same frequency as the H-Band, but don't have enough wattage in our brain's antenna to hear the whole thing.

The impacts and waves you describe sound to me like pre-OBE rushing sensations, I'm not sure they're actually related to the voices. You will probably find that you can get the rushing sensations without first hearing the voices.

Thanks for the input gang, I agree that the sounds I heard were NOT astral entities since they were not directed towards me in particular, but rather loud, random noises emanating from god knows where. The sensation was like being in a dark room with a gazillion radios blaring at the same time.

...which brings me to your account Cube, it sounds amazingly like mine, and my instincts tell me that we unwittingly 'tuned in' to this particular frequency of the astral plane.

From reading of many people's accounts here - and elsewhere, including all the books I've read on this topic, I get the impression that we humans are nothing more than radio transmitters and receivers, capable of tuning in to an infinite number of frequencies (dimensions).

T.L. what you described sounds almost like the astral wind, except you feel electricity too at the same time. I'm not sure what that is but probably something to do with the hypnagogic state as Cube said. I've had the vibes, which can feel like electricity, and I've felt what can be described as a strong wind blowing over me, as well as hearing what sounded like a windstorm, and usually when these things happened I was always in the hypnagogic state.

Hey nitetravler...

I've had this same exact experience upon waking when I was a kid. Much noise and turmoil. It was amazing. Thank you for sharing. Never though of it being the H-band noise. [:)]

In his last book 'The Ultimate Journey' Robert Monroe mentions a phenomenon called the 'H Band Noise' which supposedly is a conglomeration of all the thoughts of all humanity, and which he described as a "mass of messy energy". Monroe said that the 'noise' sounded like every language known to man and in every accent imaginable. He described the H Band Noise as appearing like a "reflective layer" and advised passing thru it as quickly as possible since it was similar to "being jostled thru an angry, screaming mob".

Many years ago, as an airman in the Air Force I remember waking up from a dream and hearing what sounded like people yelling or screaming. The experience didn't last more than 5 or 6 seconds, and while it wasn't particularly frightening, it WAS a bit disconcerting.

My question is, has anyone here ever experienced this phenomenon?
