Hey Guys!
I am pretty new to the forum (and to AP itself). I have a question that has been troubling me since the past many days. The thing is, when I sleep, my eyes are almost half open. When I try projecting, I follow these techniques:

1. Lie down on back with eyes closed.
2. Progressive Relaxation
3. Focus on the space between my eyebrows and avoid an movements.

Now the problem is, to trick the body into SP, should I keep my eyes half open? It so happens that after sometime of lying down I feel my eyes opening. Once I went with the flow and they opened fully  :-P

So what should I do? Should I forcibly close them, keep them half open or what?

Use a sleeping mask or try a different position... My few close experiences I am usually laying on my side and looking straight ahead.
Sleep paralysis if that is what you mean by SP I don't think is needed but is to a degree for some people a sign post along the way. I have made it to sleep paralysis but was no where closer to AP due to how my focus used to be, far to physical when I should have been focusing away from the body.
