Title: Rope problems
Post by: heter on November 15, 2004, 16:12:45
Hi. I'm having trouble with the rope technique and was wondering if anyone could help me out? Maybe you could tell me what I am doing wrong?

I do a little physical relaxation and I sit indian style with my back to a wall on my bed. I sit there and focus my awareness on my 3rd eye chakra. I try to think of absolutely nothing and try to keep as little activity going on in my mind for as long as possible. After a while I feel a trance coming on for sure. Not being sure if I was in a trance or not, (because it was my first) I do a test by trying to move my arm and find that it is very heavy, I also try to speak and find that my speech is slurred and slower than normal. Anyway, I close my eyes again and try to further my trance. I begin to try and loosen my astral body by sending my awareness around my room a few times and back and forth. I then begin the rope technique. After a minute or so, I find that I am having trouble moving my awareness arms to do the climbing motion. After a few minutes of not feeling anything, and struggling with the motion, I decide to go get a snack and quit.

Any help?

I think that the sensation of going up (raising) is more important than actually moving your astral arms.  I think that you could get the same result by trying to reproduce the feeling you get when you are in an elevator.  Just focus on the raising sensation.
