Hi all, when you are in the astral and you see the ocean, city, buildings, landscapes and it looks like what you would see in the physical, is it possible it could come from the mind?   I was talking to someone today and he said the mind is extremely powerful.   You could be seeing things that are not real.   My imagination is terrible.   I cannot draw anything and I cannot imagine things in my mind.   If it came from my mind, how could I see things that are extremely realistic?   What are your thoughts?    A long time ago, I said, now I see a talking brown horse.   A horse appeared and it was very realistic.  The horse was not coloured brown.   It could talk.   Was that from my mind?

Yes, as the NP is mostly thought based your thoughts manifest in one way or another. You can create a whole scenario and play a part in it or you can watch something occur and see this exact same thing on the news a week later.
It has no boundaries and what you want to experience is based on your limited amount of understandable perception.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Yes, but everything you experience, whether in waking life, dreams, or AP all is internally generated. Reality exists because you create it inside yourself. As Morpheus said, "Real is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain" We experience reality by creating an image of it inside of our mind through our senses. In the astral, we do the same but without our physical senses. Our abilities to do this vary, but from my own experience I can say that the realities I experience outside waking reality are extremely real. Quite a bit of the time I have spent in them has been examining and evaluating the environment to determine how real it is. My favorite part of that has been touching things and feeling how real they felt.

I think the value of any experience, waking physical reality or NPR is in what you take from it, not in how real it is. If at the end of your life someone told you that none of it was real in the way you thought it was, would that take anything away from the experience?

The physical reality is thought created too. The difference is that because it is denser, the time factor takes place when comes to manifestation.
Now, I believe that while APing, we can create instantly perhaps temporary things, scenarios, etc. But I also believe we can travel to places where things have been crated by a mass consciousness residing there and are pretty stable. I have been to places with many entities where it was absolutely beautiful, but I could not change much, unless the mass consciousness is in agreement.
Also, keep in mind that if you want to see something or experience something, sometimes your mind can take you to places where what you want to see already exists.

Thank you all for your replies.   Are you saying that when we are in the astral it is not real?    If that is so, what is the point of trying to get into the astral?   If everything is fake then why try to ap.   I have read that you can go to real places, see deceased people and meet your friends.  Perhaps you are saying it is our perceptions how we see things.   What is real to one person may not be real to another person.

It's as "real" as this is existence is. If you are experiencing it consciously aware than it is "real" to you!

IMO, the only thing that is "real" is your experience.

Exactly.

Anything you can "experience" is *real*.  :)
Which really opens up a lot of experiences that people dismiss...

After experiencing the NPR, I had to pretty much toss out my definition of "real". For me, the word itself is basically obsolete and non-applicable.

Can you please tell me what does NPR mean?   I looked up the abbreviations but I could not see it there.   Thanks,
