You still need to live your life here, in this physical reality.  THIS is where your major spiritual leaps will occur... not in the non-physical.

If the entire world's population knew and accepted the existence of the non-physical and how to get there, then there would be much more research done on the fact.  That's all.
You STILL need to live your life and grow here in this education system we call the Physical.

The worldwide acceptance and understanding of OBEs would, of course, be a huge paradigm shift (meaning that people would see the world in a completely new and different way.) Perhaps the larger question that should be asked is "Would the acceptance of OBEs lead to the acceptance of a continuing existence after physical death".
Let me answer my own question. Most probably that answer would be Yes. And That would be the huge, monumental planet-wide shift in consciousness. Of course there is the obstacle of religious dogma to be dealt with. Yet that is too big a topic to be addressed here.
